Once more, the innovative team over at Hello Games has outdone themselves! They’ve just rolled out a fresh, complimentary update for No Man’s Sky, introducing personalizable player spacecraft as a new feature.
In simpler terms, the latest update in the sci-fi space game has been named Voyagers. This exciting update introduces a novel vessel category to the game – Corvettes.
In this game earlier, the available spacecraft for your use were preset or automatically created ones, which you could board to navigate through space and find protection against extreme planetary weather.
With the Voyagers update, Corvettes join the party, and they’re a completely different beast.
These are significantly bigger ships that players can personalize entirely, envision them as a movable player’s home base.
In simpler terms, you have the option to customize your Corvette with diverse rooms such as living spaces, mission control systems, strategic planning areas, among others. Furthermore, it offers a variety of weapon options, and you can also personalize its interior design according to your preferences.
Once satisfied with it, you are free to maneuver it within the game like any standard vessel – but what sets the Corvette apart is that you can move about inside the ship while in flight, and even venture out for a spacewalk in zero gravity.
You can also group up with other players and all fly together in one Corvette as a crew.
In the course of the game, Corvettes become available, and active players should find them accessible relatively swiftly. Additionally, a special expedition centered around Corvettes has been added, ensuring that all players can experience these modern vessels at some point.
In a press statement, our founder and managing director, Sean Murray, expresses that bringing this update to life has been an enormous task.
For quite some time now, the team over at Hello has been diligently developing Voyagers. The intricate technical hurdles they have had to surmount to pull off such an undertaking are monumental. Nearly every aspect of the game needed substantial revisions to handle the complexities of relative space travel. Watching your multiplayer crew stroll about, casually modifying their vessel while it hurtles through space at warp speed, en route to a planet being created in real-time as you near it – it’s mind-boggling what goes on behind the scenes to make that feasible.

This upcoming game update seems massive, and it’s not hard to see why customizing your own livable spaceship, similar to the Millennium Falcon, is enticing. After all, who wouldn’t want a personal starship of their very own?
So, what are your thoughts on the latest updates for No Man’s Sky, specifically the Voyagers and the new Corvettes? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section below.
