Kojima Productions celebrates their ten-year milestone with an exclusive gathering titled “Beyond the Strand.” This event, headed by founder Hideo Kojima, promises to welcome notable guests and give fans a sneak peek into upcoming endeavors from the studio.
The scheduled event is set to happen at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, Japan on the 23rd of September. Audience members can attend in person, with tickets becoming available from the 2nd of September on the official website. Although specifics about the event haven’t been fully disclosed yet, Kojima Productions has confirmed that it will approximately run for 2.5 hours, commencing at 1 pm JST and concluding at 3:30 pm JST.
The Beyond the Strand event is planned to be broadcast live as well. Specific details regarding the live stream are yet to be announced, but they’ll probably be revealed closer to the event, once tickets have been on sale for a while.
After recently launching Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on PS5, Kojima Productions has been focusing on updates for the game and their upcoming projects. Last week, Hideo Kojima announced that he had completed the concept for a potential third Death Stranding game but expressed no desire to develop it himself, instead preferring another studio to create Death Stranding 3.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share the words of Hideo Kojima himself. In an interview, he expressed his enthusiasm for exploring new projects, as the conclusion he envisioned for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach felt like a fitting finale to the story that began with the original Death Stranding.
He mentioned that he currently isn’t working on creating “DS3”. The conclusion of “Death Stranding 2” served as a fitting end to both parts 1 and 2 for him. However, he has already outlined the concept for “DS3”. His hope is that someone else will develop it based on his existing plans.
After the release of “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach”, Kojima Productions is now focusing on their upcoming projects. One of these is a horror game named “OD”, and another is an espionage title referred to as “Physint”. It’s worth noting that Kojima had mentioned before that the idea for “Physint” emerged due to fans expressing interest in his return to creating a spy-themed game similar to Metal Gear.
In his discussion about working on ‘Physint’ in May, Kojima shared that he had numerous fresh concepts he wished to bring to life. However, during the pandemic when he fell ill, he noticed a strong desire from many for something akin to Metal Gear Solid. This sparked an idea for a new espionage game. Upon reflection, he felt this concept held merit.
