Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is making everyone do fast and furious double takes. 

The weight loss transformation of the actor from the movie “Moana” was clearly evident as he attended the Miu Miu Women’s Tales event during the 2025 Venice Film Festival on August 30, in preparation for his upcoming film “The Smashing Machine”.

During an outing, Dwayne, who plays Mark Kerr in the film, showcased his recently slender physique. He wore a light blue, short-sleeved shirt with colorful drawings and straight-leg black pants. In a video taken on August 31st and shared online, the 53-year-old looked noticeably different as he casually put his hands in his pockets and flashed a smile for the cameras.

After witnessing the grand reveal, I couldn’t help but do a double take – absolutely smitten by the breathtaking transformation! Just as one enthusiast put it on X, “Definitely had to look twice!

Others noted how much his body has changed with light-hearted quips about his stage name. 

He’s changing to resemble The Pebble” or “His character seems to be taking on the qualities of The Pebble.

Many were thrilled to witness his on-screen transformation in the film, “The Smashing Machine,” directed by Benny Safdie, who also features Emily Blunt.

Absolutely, Dwayne couldn’t wait to display his refreshed look, achieved not only through weight loss but also by using more than a dozen prosthetics and spending as much as four hours daily in the makeup chair.

During a September 1 press conference for the film, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the former wrestler expressed his eagerness for this transformation, stating, “I felt an inner call, a soft whisper saying, ‘Could you achieve even more? I yearn to do more, and what would that entail?'” This was in addition to the successful career he’s enjoyed over the years and the movies he’s already made.
