I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just caught wind of the latest trailer unveiled by Netflix for the highly anticipated drama series, House of Guinness, masterfully created by Steven Knight. This captivating production features none other than James Norton, who stole hearts in Happy Valley. It’s going to be a must-watch!
As a passionate film enthusiast, I am thrilled to announce an upcoming television series that promises to be nothing short of captivating. This masterpiece, gracing our screens, is a creation of the brilliant mind behind Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight. What sets this series apart, however, is its basis on the Guinness family – one of Europe‘s most legendary and resilient dynasties, whose real-life tale forms the backbone of this extraordinary production.
In the second half of the 19th century, the story unfolds as the four Guinness siblings – Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben – grapple with the loss of their father, mourning his passing.
Yet, upon disclosure that Arthur and Edward share control over the brewery, chaos swiftly ensues, hinting at a contentious family dispute based on the clips.
In this paraphrase, I’ve attempted to maintain the original meaning while making it more accessible by using simpler language and smoothing out the sentence flow.
You can watch the trailer below:
The trailer additionally offers viewers their initial glimpse of Norton portraying Guinness factory foreman Sean Rafferty, a character embroiled in the family’s tumultuous situations. He speaks to Arthur, stating: “The passing of your father has stirred up quite a hornet’s nest.
In discussing Norton’s character, Knight had shared with Tudum that “Rafferty stands out as one of the most remarkable elements in this series. His portrayal of his relationships within the family truly reflects the series’ contemporary nature.
In an exciting turn of events, I, a cinephile, am thrilled to share that the roles of the Guinness family in our upcoming production will be brought to life by some exceptional talents. Anthony Boyle from Shardlake, Louis Partridge known for his work in Disclaimer, Emily Fairn famously seen in The Responder, and Fionn O’Shea hailing from Normal People will embody Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Benjamin respectively. Can’t wait to see these brilliant actors bring the Guinness family to life on screen!
Jack Gleeson, Derva Kirwan and Niamh McCormack will also appear.
House of Guinness is coming to Netflix on Thursday 25th September 2025.
