Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are collaborating to shape the future of the Rayman franchise, as announced by brand producer Loic Gounon in a video message commemorating its 30th anniversary. Rayman was initially released for the original PlayStation on September 1, 1995.
A highly skilled group from both Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are collaborating right now to shape the future of Rayman, according to Gounon. While we might not be revealing updates about it anytime soon, you can feel confident that Rayman is in capable hands.
In October 2024, Ubisoft announced that studios Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have begun investigating the Rayman series. The project they’re working on is currently at a very initial stage. This confirmation came after Insider Gaming reported a potential Rayman remake was underway in early development.
Lately, in May, Ubisoft Milan advertised open positions for a 3D gameplay animator and a senior game designer, both to contribute to a highly anticipated AAA game within the Rayman franchise.
Here is the full message from Gounon:
Hello everybody, my name is Loic [Gounon] and I’m joining you from Ubisoft Montpellier.
It’s a real pleasure for us to be involved in such an amazing event and engage with you, our valued fans, face-to-face.
For about two decades now, I’ve been part of Ubisoft, where I’ve dedicated my time to the Rayman series since 2006. My contributions include popular titles like Rayman Raving Rabbids, Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends.
Since joining Ubisoft twenty years ago, I’ve been a key player in the Rayman franchise, working on games such as Rayman Raving Rabbids, Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends since 2006.
Rayman originated at Ubisoft Montpellier in 1995 and over the past three decades, he’s embarked on numerous journeys due to various studios worldwide, such as Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Milan, or Ubisoft Annecy.
From hereon, we’ll be utilizing our various communication platforms to honor our remarkable past. Over time, you’ll get a peek into the making-of process, intriguing stories, developer chats, artwork previews, and other fascinating insights as we progress through the upcoming months.
I, a devoted admirer, can confidently say that Rayman wouldn’t have reached the iconic status he holds today without each one of you, the passionate fans. Together, you’ve played an instrumental role in nurturing his legacy, and we are deeply grateful for your unwavering support and dedication.
Previously mentioned, an exceptionally skilled duo from Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are collaboratively shaping the future of the beloved character, Rayman. While we might not be releasing updates immediately, take comfort in knowing that Rayman is being handled by capable professionals.
