In a Toronto studio filled with gaming industry experts, known as Buster X Buster, has unveiled ‘Radiant Starlets’. This exciting new project blends the classic side-scrolling action of Mega Man with dating simulation elements, promising an engaging experience. The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, the upcoming Switch 2, and PC via Steam. To make this dream a reality, they have launched a Kickstarter campaign aiming to raise $100,000 CAD.

Stepping into the future, experience the captivating realm of Radiant Starlets – a high-definition 2D action platformer reminiscent of timeless Mega Man series. However, this time around, you’ll be building relationships and dating the formidable boss characters!

Make your way through eight exhilarating levels filled with action, using your jumping, dodging, and swift moves to evade captors trying to claim you. Mastering your abilities, reacting quickly, and maintaining your agility will be crucial for your victory!

The game named “Radiant Starlets” is crafted to offer multiple play options. With each fresh game featuring a distinct romantic interest, you’ll gain access to novel mini-games, armor collections, and exclusive endings.

Narrative

In the world depicted in “Radiant Starlets”, difficulties arise as a consequence of rapid technological advancements.

In a grim future teetering on the edge of human extinction, you assume the role of Dream – the world’s one and only Perfect Companion Robot, engineered to be the perfect companion. Your mission is to evade the clutches of the Starlets, who are determined to lay claim to your unique existence.

As a gamer, I’ve found myself in a predicament – my reliable power source has been shattered into eight fragments, and if I don’t manage to locate them all, I’ll be running out of power within the year. Each piece I gather will bring me one step closer to unraveling the mystery of who or what I truly am. Quite an adventure ahead!

Discover the progression, locate your armor outfits and enhancements for boosting your vitality and bonuses. Unearth hidden paths and gather your components to ensure your ongoing survival and eventual escape from those trying to capture you, while also gaining insights into your possible ally!

Gameplay

In the thrilling world of Radiant Starlets, I find myself wielding a pair of versatile phase cannons. These bad boys are perfect for long-range skirmishes and prove indispensable in taking down adversaries. They’re capable of discharging various types of energy and can be fine-tuned for even more impressive feats!

  • Traverse Challenging Environments – Play eight main stages and face against Starlet Overdrive, a world-famous S-Pop group bent on obtaining Dream for themselves.
  • Per-Relationship Speed-Runs – Each partner provides a separate speed run and endings. With Radiant Starlets, you’re encouraged to try every boss order. Replay to experience each partner’s armor set, minigame, and story.
  • Partner Specific Mini Games – Each partner has a custom mini game, designed to unlock partner-specific power-ups and narrative.
  • Armor Designed by your Partner – Each partner playthrough will have a custom armor set with unique properties, creating variances in gameplay between runs.
  • Custom Partner Charge Shot – Each partner provides you with a custom charge shot that you blast!
  • Get Power Ups From Each Boss – The Starlets have all modified Dream’s power source to power their equipment. When he retrieves them he will get a part of their powers.
  • Endings for Each Romantic Partner – Each Romantic partner provides narrative changes and their own distinct ending.

World

In the realm of Radiant Starlets, things are distinctly unlike ours. Instead of widespread populations, cities cluster densely together, yet astonishingly low birth rates prevail across the entire planet. As a result, the population is rapidly aging, creating immense strain on social support systems and causing chaos in this world.

As an avid explorer, I can’t help but notice how cities are brimming with individuals engrossed in their own worlds, becoming increasingly self-absorbed. With this game, you get to traverse a myriad of real-world locations, immerse yourself in their unique stories, and engage with the much-loved Starlets – each one offering a fascinating character study.

Locations include:

  • Revorit – Once the vehicle manufacturing capital of the world. Now it’s in complete disarray. Highways are fragmented shells of what they once were. Once populous, now completely barren. Daneka used her racing winnings to buy the now abandoned desolate city, both for its history, but also to build the world’s largest and most dangerous race track. Now it’s only populated by her and her vehicle robot hybrids. Look out for pitfalls, patrolling vehicles and hazardous chasms while you approach Daneka.
  • Neon Flowronto – A non-stop party, Flowronto never sleeps. It’s streets are dominated by restaurants, events, arts, and nightlife. Nyannaly bought up a city block and turned it into her studio as well as endless party flats. People relentlessly dance, coming night after night to the sleepless city. A city populated with lights and streams of automated vehicles filling the sky going from event to event. Jump, climb, and evade the challenges and obstacles Nyannaly laid out as you ascend to her studio and challenge her for her piece of your core.

Boss Order

Select your boss order! The order in which you challenge bosses will change who you can date.

In our action platformer game, we aim to ensure that the romantic aspect doesn’t become a flood of text. Instead, we’ll incorporate mini-games during the missions to earn bonuses, offer intriguing snippets of the storyline, and unlock different armor sets as your relationship deepens.

Players must explore various levels to discover items that boost their abilities and uncover new teammates. Some Starlets might initially seem challenging, so feel free to mix up the sequence of stages you play until you’re familiar with their move sets.

This type of game is designed for both fun and improvement, enticing you to replay it multiple times in search of hidden elements and striving to optimize your performance by reducing playtime.

Each character in the game offers a distinct approach for speedrunning sessions. My experience with Mega Man games often leads me to master the quickest path once I’ve identified the optimal route. The objective of Radiant Starlets is to explore multiple paths tailored to your chosen partner and their unique abilities, prompting you to experiment with all routes and form bonds with each character in an effort to optimize your speed on every path possible.

The game Radiant Starlets combines elements from action-platformer games like Mega Man, romantic hybrid games such as Persona and Fire Emblem. While it offers dating dialogue, it also understands that some players prefer speed, so the dating conversations can be skipped. Essentially, it provides quick, enjoyable level challenges and brief, engaging minigames. These rewards include armors and attacks. Overall, each playthrough offers a diverse set of gaming experiences.

Every Armor Set in this game will come with alterations to both movement and attack mechanics, offering new movement abilities such as double jumps, up dashes, or hovering, and also introducing a special charge shot that can reveal hidden areas within levels or ease certain challenges and battles.

As a gamer, I’ve discovered that each encounter, or “mini-games” as you might call them, comes with its own unique challenges. Success in these dates can grant temporary boosts to my character level, helping me power through the game more efficiently. Not only that, but it also advances my relationship status, which is crucial for unlocking some cool features like my charge shot and armor set.

    • Description – Dream was designed to be a Companion Helper Robot. His design was based on aggregated preferences for S-pop stars and drama actors in order to be ideally attractive in the North Eastern and Eastern Regions of the planet. Due to declining birth rates and political dissent, he was the only model ever designed. He was put away in storage in an undisclosed location; however, after being so thoroughly covered in all forms of media, his location was leaked to the most elite bidders for an exorbitant price. Little is known about him, and he knows less about himself. He has little time to discover himself, though, as he must obtain his power core parts or he won’t last long enough to find out.
  • Rika
    • Role – Mechanical Engineer
    • Power – ?????
    • Speed – ?????
    • Description – Having lost her arm when it was crushed in a work accident, Rika built herself a robotic arm to continue her work. She immediately took an interest in Dream but felt terrible for his fate. She found Dream’s location first and made modifications to him so he would be able to defend himself from his pursuers.
  • Daneka
    • Role – Racer
    • Power – 6,000
    • Speed – 100
    • Description – Daneka is a world-renowned racer, having won the last 7 Moto-XP competitions. She used her massive earnings to buy up the abandoned City of Revorit, which was known for its history of automobile manufacturing. Daneka has turned the city into her personal racetrack, and now she is looking for someone who can keep up with her but isn’t after her for personal gain.
    • Dating Mini Game – For Daneka’s date mini game, you’ll need to beat her in motorcycle races to maximize your relationship and unlock your armor and charge shot.
  • Nyannaly
    • Role – World-renowned DJ
    • Power – 12,000
    • Speed – 40
    • Description – Nyannaly is the most energetic and talented DJ in the world, constantly traveling from place to place playing electrifying gigs. She’s built a reputation as an unstoppable force of the nightlife at every party she graces with her presence; however, beneath her vibrant exterior lies a deep emotional void. She’s never met anyone who can match her intensity; no one with enough energy to keep up, and so when she hears about Dream, she becomes fixated. As a (Perfect Robotic Companion), Dream doesn’t tire, so to he,r he represents an ideal partner; someone who can finally match her pace.
    • Dating Mini Game – For Nyannaly’s date mini-game, you need to prove your rhythm to her to increase your relationship, unlock new dialogue, and get your armor set.
