Jack Osbourne is sticking up for his dad Ozzy Osbourne.
As an ardent fan with unwavering devotion, I felt compelled to voice my thoughts after hearing Roger Waters’ rather bracing remarks regarding the legendary heavy metal figure, whose untimely demise due to a heart attack occurred on July 22 – a day that left us all mourning at the loss of our beloved icon, who was 76 years old.
Jack recently posted on Instagram, Sept. 2, a message aimed at Roger Waters that Kelly Osbourne later shared. The message read, ‘Roger Waters, I can’t help but express my disappointment. You seem to have lost touch with reality and are grasping for attention in a misguided way, resorting to sensationalist comments in the media.’
And the Osbournes alum made it clear Roger’s feelings about Ozzy were mutual.
“My father always thought you were a c–t,” he added. “Thanks for proving him right.”
In my perspective, following Jack’s statement, it seemed like a reaction to remarks made by the esteemed Roger, aged 81, during an interview not long after the demise of Ozzy. During this discussion, Roger voiced criticisms towards Ozzy’s MTV reality series and his health condition leading up to his passing.
Roger expressed on the August 12th episode of Independent Ink podcast that although Ozzy Osbourne, who recently passed away, had been a frequent figure on television for many years due to his eccentricities and antics, he showed no particular interest in Ozzy’s music. He made it clear that he was indifferent towards Black Sabbath and their work.
Roger subsequently voiced his disapproval regarding one of the Grammy-winning artist’s notorious incidents – the incident involving him biting the head off a bat during a concert back in 1982.

Roger went on to say that he has no enthusiasm for activities such as beheading chickens, or anything of the sort. In simpler terms, he just doesn’t care.
Although Roger didn’t soften his criticism towards Ozzy, many people fondly recalled him. Interestingly, Jack paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father shortly following Ozzy’s burial in Birmingham, England, where he was originally laid to rest.
As one fortunate member among many, I had the privilege to address him as “Dad.” In August, I penned down this truth on Instagram. My heart is swirling with immense sadness and sorrow yet brimming with love and gratitude. Those 14,501 days I shared with him were not just days, they were a blessing.

Instead of “The heavy metal band shared a throwback photo of Ozzy Osbourne with a simple broken heart emoji as the caption,” you could write: “The heavy metal group posted an old picture of Ozzy Osbourne, accompanied by a single broken heart symbol.

He found ‘War Pigs’ both chilling and captivating. It was Ozzy’s voice that transported him to a haunting realm. A fascinating voyage indeed. When the album ‘Blizzard of Ozz’ arrived, he instantly became a fan. Thanks, Ozzy, for your music – it enriches our lives’ journey.

The actor fondly expressed about his “Little Nicky” co-star, saying, “Whether we were hanging out in our basements with siblings, exploring woods with friends, riding in cars, attending keg parties, boating, practicing football, or having sleepovers, no one was cooler to blast on our speakers than the undeniable prince of darkness – Ozzy Osbourne! We all adored him just as much.
