Wednesday Season 2’s Ending Drops a Massive Addams Family Bombshell for Season 3

It was common knowledge that the Season 2 finale of ‘Wednesday’ on Netflix promised plenty of unexpected turns, hidden truths, and potentially some nail-biting cliffhangers – and it certainly delivered on all counts. Throughout this season, Wednesday has been seeking answers from her past in a bid to make sense of her present and save her friend before time runs out. As predicted, things took a turn for the complex (and risky) than even Wednesday had foreseen. Moreover, the finale of Season 2 has paved the way for Season 3, leaving us eagerly awaiting its arrival while trying to decipher the hints they’ve given us along the way.

On Wednesdays, the second season hasn’t shied away from unearthing hidden truths, whether figuratively or literally speaking. The main character delved deeply into Nevermore’s past and her family’s concealed facts, leading to some of the most significant revelations in the show thus far. It’s a lot to absorb, leaving us eagerly anticipating how these developments will unfold fully.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Wednesday Season 2.

Ophelia’s Fate

Since Morticia Addams hinted at Wednesday’s resemblance to her sister, Ophelia, reminiscent of Grandmama Hester Frump’s reluctance to discuss it, fans have been brainstorming theories. After all, we’ve observed that both Morticia and the cryptic Grandmama share an aversion to openly discussing the matter, and we also know that Ophelia shares Wednesday’s mysterious Raven-like traits.

At one point, viewers speculated that the woman confined in Willow Hill’s basement might be none other than Ophelia, which could account for her long disappearance. Yet, Part 2 left no doubt this wasn’t accurate as the woman had distinct familial connections that differed from Ophelia’s. The series “This Means Woe” culminates in a sequence of intriguing scenes hinting at deeper secrets or laying the foundation for future seasons.

Notably, Wednesday is found reading Ophelia Frump’s diary, serving as a fresh link to their shared past and her unique talents. However, there’s a twist: Wednesday unexpectedly catches a glimpse of her aunt in the journal. The show offers a bit more insight, suggesting that Ophelia is confined within her mother’s basement. What’s even more disturbing is that she’s scrawled the chilling words “Wednesday will meet her demise” on the walls.

It’s clear there are a lot of unanswered questions following the latest developments. Could Hester Frump have confined her daughter due to mental instability, or is something more sinister at play? Why the need for such secrecy? And is Ophelia foretelling or commanding Wednesday’s death next season? This new information promises to cast a shadow over Wednesday in Season 3.

An Addams Family Revelation

In the season 2 finale, not only Ophelia but also Wednesday’s lesser-known family member, Thing, experienced a significant revelation. The finale introduced a substantial backstory for Thing, although it’s a troubling one that he can’t fully recall.

It’s been unveiled that Morticia and Gomez Addams had always been aware of Thing’s past – a fact they chose to conceal (a pattern emerging). Back then, Thing was actually Isaac Night’s right hand, figuratively speaking. However, this association ended when Thing erred gravely by deceiving an Addams. The wisdom of such actions was clearly beyond him.

Regardless of any secrets surrounding Thing, it’s clear that he remains a cherished member of the Addams Family, not due to blood ties, but by personal choice. This only strengthens their bond. In essence, as we eagerly await Wednesday Season 3, there’s no doubt that Thing will be along for the journey.

Tyler’s Next Steps

Regarding Thing in Season 3, there’s no cause for concern or speculation. However, as for Tyler, it remains uncertain what lies ahead on his journey. At the last glimpse, his character was going through a tremendous amount of trauma – enough to shatter many individuals, even those without the Hyde gene.

As a follower here, I’m finding myself intrigued by the arrival of a fresh face at Nevermore. This new teacher, Capri, presents an intriguing proposition to Tyler – an escape plan. Is it truth she speaks, holding genuine means to grant Tyler a life amongst his own kind? Or is this another cunning move to control the young Hyde, a manipulation I can’t help but question?

Did the murderous werewolf that originally occupied Tyler’s cell at Willow Hill perhaps turn out to be none other than Capri? This could shed light on her unusual sympathies towards Tyler. Alternatively, it might hint at a more sinister future for Capri.

The Search for a Friend

To wrap things up, fans of the show Wednesday can’t help but worry about beloved character Enid Sinclair. The second season has been particularly challenging for her, as she’s had to navigate through countless secrets, an unwelcome intruder, romantic turmoil, and a fresh complication in her werewolf identity.

The most worrying aspect for fans is the latter one. There are many unanswered questions regarding the role of an Alpha werewolf, and it appears to have more drawbacks rather than advantages at this point. On a different note, Enid has disappeared. She bravely decided to give up her future prospects to save her friend, demonstrating her selfless nature. Enid took on her wolf form fully aware that the chances of returning to human form were slim.

In their latest encounter, Enid was found seeking shelter amidst the woods, attempting to avoid the heavy rainfall. Fortunately, Wednesday, known for her tenacious spirit and unwillingness to back down, is on the hunt for Enid. The mystery lies in how she’ll react upon finding her – can there be a glimmer of hope for Enid? Or will she remain trapped in a state of perpetual struggle? We eagerly await the unfolding answers.

Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix.
