Tomb Raider’s Anime Will Wrap Up with Season 2, Due Out on Netflix in December

Netflix is set to conclude its popular anime adaptation of Tomb Raider with the announced Season 2, slated to premiere on December 11th, as per Variety’s reports.

Last year, the series known as “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” made quite an impression upon its initial release, leading to its prompt renewal for more episodes.

However, this next set of episodes will bring the story to its conclusion.

The official story summary reads:

In this fresh take, Lara Croft, voiced by Hayley Atwell, stumbles upon a series of stolen African Orisha masks. Teaming up with her trusted companion Sam (Karen Fukuhara), she embarks on an exhilarating journey to recover these priceless cultural artifacts.

As the story unfolds, Lara’s quest leads her across continents, uncovering clandestine aspects of Orisha history. She encounters a formidable and cryptic billionaire who covets the masks for her own purposes.

The relics conceal mysteries that challenge conventional understanding, potentially possessing power so immense it verges on divine. Lara soon realizes this ancient power may hold more than she bargained for.

This week, it’s intriguing that Amazon MGM unveiled their intentions to develop a fresh live-action Tomb Raider series. The role of Lara Croft will be played by none other than Sophie Turner, famously known for her work in Game of Thrones.

To put it in my own words as a fan, I must confess that I really enjoyed the initial season of The Legend of Lara Croft. In my critique, I dubbed it an “animated globetrotting adventure with a quick pace.” Fervently hoping for a satisfying conclusion to the tale, I eagerly await the second season.
