In video game lore, Kratos from the God of War series is undeniably one of the most potent characters, having defeated numerous powerful beings. Among these, he vanquished the entire Greek pantheon consisting of gods such as Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, along with many others. Furthermore, his exploits didn’t end there; Kratos then found himself in the Norse realm where he managed (against his own reluctance) to best Thor, Baldur, and Odin among other notable figures.

As a dedicated gamer, I must admit that while Kratos is an absolute powerhouse in the realm of video games, there are a few other characters out there who have shown remarkable strength that could potentially take him down in a fight. Now, I’m not saying this list is exhaustive, but here are three gaming legends that would likely give Kratos a run for his money if they ever faced off.

1. Doom Slayer

In more casual terms: Although the character known as the Doom Slayer from id Software’s latest DOOM series is frequently armed with weapons like the Super Shotgun to fight off demons and enemies, this doesn’t accurately reflect his true power. The Doom Slayer is essentially a god-like figure who has experienced death on numerous occasions but always manages to emerge victorious in the end.

In simpler terms, both Kratos and the Doom Slayer are equally powerful, capable of defeating each other in a hypothetical fight. However, it’s hard to predict who would win on any given day. What sets the Doom Slayer apart is that he is one of the few video game characters who could potentially overcome Kratos.

2. Arceus

Kratos, who is skilled at defeating deities, could potentially face his greatest adversary yet with Arceus. In the Pokemon universe, Arceus is considered akin to a god, and it’s widely believed that this legendary being brought their world into existence. Most of what we see in the various Pokemon games originated from Arceus, as it is said to have created Dialga and Palkia, which then shaped time and space.

Given the circumstances, it seems unlikely that Kratos could defeat Arceus. Although Kratos has proven himself capable against many Pokémon in the Pokedex, Arceus is an opponent he might want to avoid. A battle with Arceus would mark the first time a deity has bested him.

3. Kirby

Beware, Kirby’s adorable, pink shell conceals a real troublemaker! Despite his sweet appearance, he’s been causing havoc in Nintendo games for years. From planet destruction to defeating cosmic deities, Kirby has showcased an unexpectedly destructive side in various installments of the franchise. Even more astonishing is his Warp Star ability, which propels him faster than light speed, a feat that’s hard to believe!

Kirby, without a doubt, would outshine Kratos. Not only could he easily destroy the former God of War in his regular form, but he’d also have the ability to swallow Kratos and absorb his powers. The strength that Kratos possesses would then be used against him, leading to an unexpected defeat for him.
