As a devoted enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Square Enix legend Tetsuya Nomura himself has dropped some exciting news about the development of Final Fantasy 7 Remake‘s upcoming chapter and the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 4!
Development is progressing well, apparently!
During the second anniversary livestream for the mobile game “Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis” today, the creative director addressed potential questions about future projects directly and honestly.
He said, as translated by Gematsu:
It appears that fans have been inquiring frequently about the third installment of the [Final Fantasy 7] Remake series. This speculation seems to stem from an interview given by co-director Motomu Toriyama suggesting a potential release around the second anniversary of Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis. Given this context, it’s understandable that fans might have such expectations. Rest assured, things are moving along nicely in development, but I’m afraid I can’t share any additional details just yet – revealing too much might come as quite a surprise!
Nomura mentioned that the “releasing date” for the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is “already set”, though he kept it confidential from public knowledge.
He added of Kingdom Hearts 4:
It’s been mentioned in various comments, but rest assured that Kingdom Hearts 4 is progressing as planned. Keep your anticipation high for its release!
Although there’s no official confirmation about the third part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we did get a sneak peek at potential screenshots for Kingdom Hearts 4 earlier this year, sparking excitement among fans. However, as of now, there’s no confirmed release date or platforms for this upcoming project.
