Every Death in Wednesday Season 2, Ranked by How Shocking They Were

Wednesday Addams, just like her family, has an unusual fascination with death and chaos. Consequently, her storyline is filled with plenty of such elements, particularly in “Wednesday” Season 2. This Netflix production reintroduced the main character at Nevermore Academy, where she was presented with a fresh mystery to unravel. In her pursuit of solving this enigma, she endangered both friends and family, a pattern that seems to follow this unique character.

Season 2 also introduces new relationships, hazards, and fatalities. Although some deaths were foreshadowed from the beginning, others took us all by surprise.

The second season of Wednesday kicks off with a hunt for a serial killer, but things take an unexpected turn when Wednesday returns to school. She encounters a fresh stalker, another murderer emerges, and the constant menace of Tyler looms. This is merely the start, as it becomes apparent that there are several hidden powers at work within Nevermore Academy. The school’s death toll is growing rapidly, leaving us curious about what season 3 might hold in store.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Wednesday Season 2, including the finale.

11) Augustus Stonehurst

It’s not surprising that among the deaths in Season 2 of Wednesday, some involved fresh characters were included. For instance, Augustus Stonehurst, who once taught at Nevermore and established the LOIS program, a scheme aimed at transferring Outcast powers to Normies. This character, unfortunately, met his end during this season.

In simpler terms, it’s fair to say that Augustus Stonehurst met his due fate at the hands of the zombie Slurp. This encounter sets off a chain of events and hints at an interconnected narrative, as one might expect from a zombie story.

10) Ron Kruger

Introducing Ron Kruger, a character embodying the typical image of a cadet. He serves as the head of his cadet group, often clashing assertively with the Outcasts. Initially, their confrontations appear balanced, but after his team’s defeat, he reveals a poor sportsmanlike behavior.

As soon as it became clear that Ron Kruger intended to assault Nevermore Academy students under the cover of darkness, we all sensed that he was doomed. In the best-case scenario, a student would become frightened and may have acted in self-defense, leading to Kruger’s demise. Regrettably, that’s exactly what transpired. By venturing into a tent inhabited by a zombie, Ron Kruger made a grave mistake and paid the ultimate price for it. Fortunately, his cadets emerged unscathed from the ordeal.

9) Dr. Rachel Fairburn

In the second season of Wednesday, Dr. Rachel Fairburn is introduced as a new character. Consequently, her potential demise may not come off as shocking due to her relatively recent introduction to the series. She is a psychologist with a specialization in Outcast behavior, yet interestingly, she herself belongs to the Normie group. To put it another way, Dr. Rachel Fairburn took a daring risk and it ultimately did not work out for her.

Instead of deliberately placing Tyler and Laurel Gates within the same structure for the purpose of aiding Tyler’s recovery (a practice that should never be considered due to safety concerns regarding an abuser and their victim), she unintentionally did so, yet this action did not cause her demise.

The story revolves around the Addams Family, specifically Fester and Wednesday. They managed to sneak into Willow Hill and set free all its inmates, including those kept underground. Meanwhile, Pugsley revived a corpse, leading to the creation of a zombie who was also confined within Willow Hill. It’s not hard to imagine what follows, as the zombie named Slurp obtains Dr. Rachel Fairburn’s brain in this chaotic situation.

8) Judi Spannagel

For those who have finished watching Wednesday, it’s common knowledge that Judy Stonehearst, as portrayed by Judi Spannagel, is indeed the daughter of Augustus Stonehearst. Following her appearance with an ill-gotten Outcast power, it seemed inevitable that her character would eventually face a tragic end.

Once upon a time, I was just an ordinary person, or so it seemed. However, that all changed when my father inexplicably acquired the powers of an avian for me. If you’re curious if I transformed into a crow serial killer, then your suspicions are well-founded.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t Wednesday who brought about my downfall, but rather a member of the Outcasts who held me accountable for my actions.

As a movie buff, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the thrilling turn of events in Willow Hill. After miraculously surviving the outbreak, Judi, our fierce protagonist, managed to make a powerful statement and issue a chilling threat towards Wednesday. Yet, her victory was short-lived, as Slurp – who is also known by another name – relentlessly tracked her down. Frankly, I must admit that this bittersweet ending didn’t exactly elicit sympathy or shock from me.

7) Professor Orloff

Professor Orloff, charmingly played by Christopher Lloyd, is a character that brings joy to the screen. It’s hard not to look forward to his appearance on the set of Wednesday, especially since he’s among the fresh faces in Wednesday Season 2. In this new season, he adopts the role of a biology teacher at Nevermore Academy.

In a straightforward manner, it seems that numerous roles at Nevermore are becoming rather unfortunate, even this one. The professor’s passing, however, comes as an unexpected shock to many, given the horrifying nature of the events witnessed by a single individual.

In the very room where he used to teach, Professor Orloff met his unfortunate demise. Meanwhile, Isaac returned with a crucial aspect of his scheme, and to top it off, he helpfully snatched a quick bite to eat. The grisly aftermath of this encounter only served to amplify the shock.

6) Gideon

Gideon wasn’t introduced until Season 2, Wednesday, yet his name was mentioned quite early in Season 1. He is the head of Morning Song, the very reason Bianca separated herself from her mother initially. Since Bianca’s tale became more prominent in Season 2, it’s logical that characters connected to her past would start making appearances now.

It’s likely that viewers didn’t foresee all the surprises from this plotline, including the fact that Gideon’s death would occur so swiftly. Although it was clear that Gideon’s demise was inevitable after his introduction, things took a sudden turn when Gideon and Barry were in the same room together. It is also worth mentioning that Principal Dort has pyro abilities, making him someone best avoided during an argument.

5) Donovan Galpin

In the first season of “Wednesday,” Donovan Galpin played a significant character as the sheriff of Jericho, unbeknownst to him, he was also the father of a Hyde. He represented the human antagonist, ready to apprehend anyone who overstepped boundaries, including Wednesday herself.

As a die-hard movie fan, I couldn’t help but anticipate a significant presence from him in Season 2, given his captivating portrayal in the first season. His reappearance at the show’s onset certainly fueled this expectation. Although he now dons the badge of a former sheriff, the man still possesses an arsenal of skills, determination, and most importantly, a bond with his son that’s as strong as ever.

Contrary to expectations, Donovan Galpin unfortunately met an untimely end early in the season, which underscored the ominous presence of the town’s new murderer. Reminiscent of the previous victim, Galpin was brutally killed by a group of crows, with his eyes being their target.

4) Principal Barry Dort

It’s worth noting that certain positions within Nevermore Academy carry an apparent curse, and the position of headmaster is one of them. With two previous holders of this role meeting their ends, it’s fair to say that the death rate isn’t encouraging.

From the very beginning, there was an unsettling aura about Principal Barry Dort that seemed suspicious. As the second season progressed, it became clear that his entire existence was a elaborate deception. Once this truth was uncovered, it was only a matter of time before one of two outcomes befell Barry: either he would mysteriously vanish or meet an untimely demise.

What’s striking about Principal Barry Dort’s passing is the unusual manner of it. Though Wednesday’s arranged outing exposed his plot, she certainly didn’t anticipate causing his death – not in this way at least. An unfortunate incident transpired where Dort was transformed into stone and then destroyed by a falling chandelier.

3) Isaac Night | Slurp

In the folklore of Nevermore, Isaac Night was believed to be buried under a tree. It is this burial site that young explorer Pugsley investigates, triggering a series of unexpected incidents. Among these occurrences was the revival of a deceased individual known as Slurp, who emerged as a zombie.

As a dedicated cinephile, I must clarify that Slurp is none other than Isaac Night himself. This intrepid protagonist embarks on a personal mission: to heal his sister, seek vengeance against the Addams Family, and reclaim his lost hand. Yet, in meddling with the Addams Family once more, he has once again faced the consequences. It seems like he just can’t seem to grasp this lesson – or perhaps he enjoys the drama a little too much!

In an unexpected turn of events, Isaac Night does not meet his end through conventional means such as being threatened with a sword or caught in an explosion nearby. Instead, his death is orchestrated by none other than his own right hand, which had chosen to forge its own path separate from him. The hand, having grown fond of its newfound freedom, snatched out Isaac’s mechanical heart and claimed back the independence it cherished.

2) Marilyn Thornhill | Laurel Gates

Known by some as Marilyn Thornhill and by others as Laurel Gates, regardless of what you call her, she was once a typical teacher at Nevermore Academy. However, beneath this ordinary facade hid a hidden agenda, which ultimately led to her arrest and institutionalization. This could have marked the end of her tale.

In the second season of Wednesday, the character wasn’t content to remain hidden in obscurity. Instead, she was relocated to Willow Hill, the same institution where Tyler was confined. Placing Master and Hyde under the same roof was a daring move, and events could have taken a turn for the worse. Unfortunately, they did, with Laurel Gates being one of those who suffered as a result.

At the large outbreak in Willow Will, Laurel Gates and Tyler encounter each other once more. Upon meeting, Laurel tries to rein in her alter ego, Hyde, but fails, ultimately leading to an unexpected demise for Laurel. This turn of events seemed inevitable, however, considering Christina Ricci’s history with the franchise, many spectators assumed this character would survive longer.

1) Francoise Galpin

It’s quite challenging to expect the resurfacing of someone thought to have been deceased for 15 years. That being said, meet Francoise Galpin, an enigmatic figure who was supposedly confined in the basement of Willow Hill. It’s fascinating to note that she wasn’t actually dead during this period, and her unexpected emergence significantly impacted the events unfolding in Season 2 of Wednesday.

Francoise has long viewed her Hyde-like self as a burden, a fact that drove her brother tirelessly to find a solution. Yet, when the time for resolution arrived, it was not Francoise but Tyler who was destined to receive the cure. Despite knowing it might cost her own life, she wished to coerce the cure upon her son.

Without much surprise, this escalates into a fierce struggle, as both mother and son metamorphose into Hydes and engage in a heated confrontation on the rooftops of Nevermore. It should be noted that Tyler does not kill his mother; instead, he attempts to rescue her. However, Francoise Galpin meets her demise, despite this effort.
