Charlie Sheen’s new Netflix documentary is a winner, winner with his family.
Prior to the former “Two and a Half Men” actor (who faced dismissal due to his public battles with substance abuse) embarking on the making of the two-part memoir, it was revealed that there were concerns from those around him regarding this project.
Just like any parent might feel, there was an initial worry,” Charlie shared with TopMob News exclusively on Sept. 4 at the premiere of ‘aka Charlie Sheen’. The concern wasn’t about public reception, but rather how it could impact him personally and if he was truly prepared to dive headfirst into such a deep pool.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself often advocating for various projects. Even in my 60s, with a rich family life that includes Cassandra, my 40-year-old daughter from my relationship with Paula Profit, Sami and Lola, my 21 and 20-year-old daughters with Denise Richards, and my 16-year-old twin sons Bob and Max with Brooke Mueller – I still make it a point to support endeavors that align with my values.
During the interview, airing tonight on TopMob News at 11 p.m., he stated that if he didn’t take action, he wouldn’t have any influence over the story or be able to add truth to the fiction. However, once his confidence in doing the right thing at the right time became evident, everyone fully supported him.
Initially, Charlie’s relatives consented to the making of a documentary that includes discussions with Denise and his previous co-star Jon Cryer. However, despite this approval, Charlie openly acknowledged that he harbored reservations about disclosing aspects of his challenging past.
Initially, as he put it, “the relationship with director Andrew Renzi developed.” He continued, “‘People are chatting about things,’ he said to me. ‘Let’s get your perspective.’ This was a step towards building trust between us.
Eventually, Charlie, who has confessed that he doesn’t understand why his daughter Sami has distanced herself from him, expressed his perspective as, “If we’re going to tackle this situation, let’s face it squarely. Let’s confront it head-on, right on Broadway.
Moreover, the coincidental release of the documentary available on Netflix from September 10th, as well as his memoir titled “The Book of Sheen” published on September 9th, seems incredibly fortuitous for him.
Charlie stated that he wouldn’t have been capable of accomplishing this five, six, or three years ago. He explained that there was sufficient distance from all the turmoil and disorder for him to gain enough clarity to delve into it in a thoughtful manner – not with the intention of sensationalizing it or creating something exploitative.
Instead, he emphasized the purpose was to share the accounts directly from the person who experienced them, offering listeners an opportunity to hear these stories unfold in real-time.

In 1984, when Charlie was just 19, he became a father to Cassandra with his long-time high school sweetheart Paula Profit.
Though Cassandra generally prefers to avoid public attention, she was accompanied by the actor from “Two and a Half Men,” Casey Huffman, during her 2010 wedding ceremony.
Charlie and his former wife, Denise Richards, had their oldest daughter on March 9, 2004, which was two years after they got married.
Sami initially gained public attention when she made her appearance on Denise Richards’ 2008 reality show “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated,” at a young age.
Approximately thirteen years after her initial start, she gained notoriety in 2022 by joining OnlyFans as a model upon turning eighteen. Her decision has since proven to be financially successful.
In a conversation with People magazine in February 2025, Sami shared that this journey had unlocked numerous opportunities for him. He also mentioned meeting fascinating individuals and finding it incredibly fulfilling to work independently, setting his own schedule, and finally pursuing dreams he had long cherished.
Lola, at the tender age of three when the movie “It’s Complicated” first hit the screens, eventually developed into a person quite distinct from her older sister, who was known for challenging norms.
Born June 1, 2005, she is a woman of God and a devout Christian.
The restaurant hostess expressed to People during an interview in February 2025 that her experience was more than just natural; she described it as supernatural. She went on to say that Jesus saved her and made profound changes in her mind. For her, Jesus is not only a savior but also a cherished friend.
The teen also shared how religion saved her from the darkness of depression.
She confessed on Instagram that she was feeling utterly lost and helpless, struggling just to get through each day. However, someone gave her hope when she had none, rescuing her from despair. For her, Jesus provided the light in her darkness, helping her overcome intense anxiety, and bestowing upon her a tranquility that seems illogical.
After parting ways with Charlie in a divorce, Denise took custody of her youngest child, Eloise, as an infant in the year 2011. In 2016, she was medically diagnosed with a chromosome 8 deletion that resulted in delays in learning to walk and talk due to developmental issues.
People magazine was told by her mother in March 2025 that Eloise is a radiant source of joy. She has an infectious enthusiasm for everything, and she warmly accepts every situation with a genuine smile. The older sisters also notice this. Sometimes, if they quarrel, [Eloise can step in] like a peacemaker… And I understand it. Then they laugh, and eventually they let go of their trivial disagreements.
Charlie and his wife Brooke Mueller gave birth to twin boys named Bob Sheen and Max Sheen on March 14, 2009. However, the couple separated less than two years after that, leaving Bob and Max in the care of their mother Denise during their difficult divorce proceedings.
In 2023, Charlie got candid about raising his youngest children as a single dad.
At that time, he informed People that their mother was preoccupied with sorting out some matters, which means she hasn’t been very visible lately. However, he described them as incredibly charming, intelligent, and humorous.
At their mother’s 47th birthday party in August 2024, which was an unusual event for them, the twins stepped out from the shadows to attend.
It’s worth noting that Charlie, who we know as Carlos Estévez, hails from a well-known family. His father, Martin Sheen, is a renowned actor in the film industry and has been working for over six decades. (Ramon Estévez is his birth name.)
Charlie’s elder sibling, Emilio Estevez, likewise chose to tread the path laid down by their father, appearing in notable movies such as The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo’s Fire, Mission: Impossible, and The Mighty Ducks.
The stars also share brother Ramon Estévez andsister Renée Estévez.
