It’s been announced that Grace Dent and Anna Haugh will be stepping in as the fresh hosts for MasterChef, taking over from the departures of Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
In July, Wallace and Torode, who had been hosting the show since 2005, were let go following a review that confirmed accusations made against them.
On Monday, the 8th of September, the BBC announced that the upcoming season of the show in 2026 will see a fresh pair as judges, with filming set to start very soon.
In simple terms, it was announced by the broadcaster in July that they would showcase this year’s series starring Wallace and Torode to honor the chefs who competed earlier.
Intriguing! Who are the fresh duo that will be part of our show from now on? Here’s a breakdown of their background. Enjoy!
Who is Anna Haugh?

Irish chef and restaurateur Haugh is the founder of Myrtle restaurant in London.
As a dedicated television viewer, I can’t help but recognize her from the screen. Her fame undeniably stems from her exceptional role as the host of the beloved Big Irish Food Tour on BBC, where she delights us with the culinary wonders of Ireland.
In the past, she has graced the screen on Celebrity MasterChef. Additionally, she took up a role as a judge alongside Wallace and Marcus Wareing for MasterChef: The Professionals in the year 2022.
In addition, she is set to serve as a judge during the concluding week of this year’s MasterChef competition. Her role as a substitute judge began following the allegations against Wallace that surfaced during production in November last year.
Upon entering the show, she expressed her joy by saying: “It’s great to be back on MasterChef! I’m thrilled to be judging alongside the amazing Grace Dent, whose work I’ve been a fan of for years. MasterChef has always motivated and connected with cooks not just in my field but also those cooking at home.
She added: “I can’t wait to get into the studio for what will be a great competition.”
Who is Grace Dent?

Food critic Dent has been a regular guest judge on MasterChef for the past decade.
In 2023, she competed as a contender on “MasterChef: Battle of the Critics.” Moreover, she’s slated to serve as a judge for an upcoming season of “Celebrity MasterChef.
As a passionate food enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement about rejoining the MasterChef kitchen! It feels like coming home to uncover the hidden culinary talents that have been simmering behind those closed doors. Can’t wait to dive in and taste the magic!
