There’s a new resident moving into Wisteria Lane.
Actress Andrea Bowen, known for her role in Desperate Housewives, announced that she and her husband Josh Zuckerman are anticipating their first child together.
On September 9th, Andrea, aged 35, posted an emotional Instagram update featuring a sweet photo of her and Josh Zuckerman, showcasing a sonogram strip. The caption declared their overwhelming joy: ‘Josh and I have created our best collaboration yet – a little one joining us later this year!’
As I embark on this fresh journey, I find myself overjoyed alongside my former co-star – she was Julie Mayer in the beloved ABC drama, and Josh played Eddie Orlofsky during season six. In a recent post, Andrea, too, revealed a heartwarming image of her tenderly touching her growing baby bump, as well as a cherished memory from our wedding last August. To add even more sweetness to this news, the talented actor from School Spirits, Josh (40), has expressed his readiness for this new chapter in life as a father.
Josh wrote in the comments, ‘That baby is mine too,’ accompanied by numerous heart emojis, colored pink.
The love story didn’t conclude there, as many celebrities expressed their good wishes to the couple in response to the post. For instance, Teri Hatcher, who played Andrea’s mom on “Desperate Housewives,” wrote, “I’m overflowing with happiness for you both! Sending you a ton of love.
As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but echo my excitement when Molly Tarlov, the star from Awkward, sent out her heartfelt congratulations. Just like how Jennifer’s character, Julie, discovered in the final season of the series that Charlie Carver’s Porter Scarvo was indeed the father of her baby, I too have always believed in the unexpected twists and turns life throws our way! #AwkwardLoveForever
As Andrea immerses herself in her role as a mother, she’s also spending time with her fictional family. Not long before she shared her pregnancy news, the actress disclosed that she would be co-hosting Teri’s upcoming podcast, Desperately Devoted.
Andrea shared on the podcast that revisiting the show now, after years with her TV mom, is particularly meaningful. This conversation will feature Andrea’s real-life daughter, Emerson Tenney, as well as Emerson’s daughter – someone Andrea got to grow up with – during this new phase of motherhood Andrea is experiencing with her own daughter.

Following the conclusion of “Desperate Housewives” in 2012, Hatcher appeared in recurring roles for shows like “The Odd Couple” and “Supergirl.” She also lent her voice to Disney’s animated films “Planes” and its sequel “Planes: Fire & Rescue,” playing the character Dottie.
Passionate about cooking, Hatcher won a special Holiday Celebrity episode of “Chopped” season 17. In 2018, she launched a YouTube channel named Hatching Change, which includes segments such as “Van Therapy” and “Don’t Eat ‘It’ Out of a Box.”
Rumors have circulated over the years about a possible rift between Hatcher and her co-stars. When asked about it on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show in 2018, Eva Longoria clarified that while they are friends, not all of them were. She added, ” ninety-nine percent of us are.”
Fast forward to 2021, fans experienced a “Desperate Housewives” reunion as Hatcher reunited with her onscreen love James Denton for Hallmark Channel’s holiday movie “A Kiss Before Christmas.
Previously known for her role as Lynette in the popular ABC series, Huffman subsequently starred in multiple shows, such as “American Crime”, “Get Shorty”, “When They See Us”, “Big Game”, “Cake”, and “Otherhood”.
In a significant turn of events, the spouse of “Shameless” actor William H. Macy found herself under public scrutiny when she was implicated in a nationwide college entrance exam cheating scandal in March 2019. Authorities charged her, along with several other parents, by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney General’s office.
Accused of paying someone $15,000 to impersonate her daughter Sophia and take the SAT exam for her, Huffman was arrested and indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud. She eventually pleaded guilty to honest services fraud and served a 14-day sentence in a federal correctional institution in Dublin, California, starting October 15, 2019. However, she was released two days earlier due to her release date falling on a weekend.
Since her release, Huffman has maintained a low profile but has made appearances on shows like “The Good Doctor” and “Criminal Minds”.
Previously known as Gabrielle Solis, she later starred in movies such as “Lowriders”, “Overboard”, and “Dora and the City of Lost Gold”. She’s also graced various television shows including “Telenovela”, “Only Murders in the Building”, and “Land of Women”.
Beyond her on-screen roles, Longoria has ventured behind the camera as well. She worked as an executive producer for Marc Cherry’s “Devious Maids” follow-up, “Devious Maids”, and “Grand Hotel”. Additionally, she has embarked on a flourishing directing career, helming episodes for “Jane the Virgin” and “Black-ish”, and making her film directorial debut with the 2023 movie “Flamin’ Hot”.
Longoria is not only an actress but also an activist, a businesswoman, and is married to producer José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón Patiño. In 2018, they welcomed their son, Santiago “Santi” Enrique Bastón.
After starring as Bree Van de Camp on Desperate Housewives, the actress who was previously seen on Melrose Place has since appeared in shows like Quantico, Ned and Stacey, You, and Monarch. In September 2018, she publicly announced that she had completed treatment for anal cancer. This health issue surfaced nine years after her husband Tom Mahoney was diagnosed with throat cancer; however, he too is now in remission. Cross and Mahoney are proud parents to twins Eden and Savannah, who were born in 2007.
After appearing in the original cast, Sheridan’s character Edie Britt was written off the series during its fifth season due to reported increasing conflicts between her and Cherry. These disputes escalated into a $20 million lawsuit against the show’s producer and ABC Television, with Sheridan accusing wrongful termination, physical and emotional abuse, gender discrimination, and ageism. The other female leads in the series pledged support for Cherry, and the initial trial resulted in a mistrial; subsequent appeals were unsuccessful.
Since leaving the show, she has starred in three Hallmark movies and had a brief stint on The CW’s Dynasty as Alexis Carrington, but only lasted 15 episodes into the second season. In December 2015, Sheridan wed Aaron Phypers and filed for divorce just months later in July 2016. Prior to this, she was married to Harry Hamlin.
Following his role as Rex, Bree’s husband, on the show’s initial season, Culp went on to feature in various series like “Revolution,” “Bosch,” “The Last Ship,” “The Resident,” and several others. He also took on roles such as Congressman Wenham in Marvel’s 2014 film “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and Agent Robinson in the 2018 movie “Collusions.”
Tragically, in 2006, his sister, Kathryn Harvey, along with her husband Bryan and their daughters Stella and Ruby, were murdered. Two men were convicted for the crime – Ricky Gray was executed by lethal injection in 2017, while Ray Dandridge is currently serving three life sentences with no possibility of parole.
Following eight seasons portraying Gabrielle’s husband Carlos Solis on TV, Chavira later secured a main character position in the brief-lived comedy “Welcome to the Family”. Since then, he’s appeared in shows like “Scandal”, “Jane the Virgin”, “The Santa Clarita Diet” and “Selena: The Series.
In October 2019, after his former colleague Huffman received a 14-day federal prison sentence for her part in the college admissions bribery scandal that shook the nation, Chavira voiced his disapproval on Twitter, attributing the lenient punishment to Huffman’s white privilege.
Previously known as Mike Delfino, he relocated his wife Erin O’Brien, along with their children Sheppard and Malin, from Glendale, California to Chanhassen, Minnesota. In 2015, he secured a leading role in the series adaptation of Hallmark Channel’s hit movie franchise “The Good Witch”. He has also made recurring appearances on “Devious Maids” and guest-starred on “NCIS: New Orleans”.
His latest projects include “Christmas on Cherry Lane” and “The Real West”.
For eight seasons, Tom Scavo (Savant) was married to Lynette. During this time, he’s been quite active, appearing as a guest star on numerous TV shows such as Criminal Minds, 9-1-1, Lucifer, and NCIS.
He is wedded to Laura Leighton, an actress from Melrose Place. Together they have two children named Lucy and Jack. Savant also has two other kids, Arianna and Madeline, from his previous marriage with Dawn Savant.
As the constant yet unseen and deceased narrator Mary Alice Young, Strong’s voice was frequently heard but her presence was scarcely seen on the show. Since then, however, she has become more prominent in her acting career. In 2012, she played Ann Ewing in TNT’s revival of Dallas, followed by portraying Lillian, Lex and Lena Luthor’s mother, on Supergirl. Strong has also acted in shows such as 13 Reasons Why, Unprisoned, Scandal, Fear the Walking Dead, among others.
In 2015, she tied the knot with director-actor John Farmanesh-Bocca, four years after her divorce from her first husband Tom Henri, who is the father of their son Zakery Henri.
In the show “Desperate Housewives,” Juanita, portrayed by actress Madison De La Garza, joined the cast as Gabrielle and Carlos’ daughter following a time leap between seasons four and five. She remained with the series until its conclusion. Post the show’s finale, De La Garza, who is Demi Lovato’s younger half-sister, has matured (she turned 18 in December 2019) and has featured in films like “Caged No More” and “Gnome Alone,” as well as television shows such as “Good Luck Charlie” and “Bad Teacher.”
De La Garza has openly discussed the harassment she faced due to her appearance on “Desperate Housewives,” which allegedly led her to develop an eating disorder. On a 2023 episode of the podcast “Heart of the Matter,” she recalled:
“I would spend countless hours reading comments,” she reminisced. “They said things like they wished I would die because of how I looked. It was like, ‘Ugly fat cow. And I hope you get cancer and die because you’re so fat.’ And just awful, awful, awful, awful things. And this was when I was 6, 7, 8 years old.
At age seven, my earliest recollections involve my attempts to stop eating, she explained further. Much of this stemmed from the comments I encountered. My family remained oblivious to this struggle as my mom was unaware that I was secretly reading these comments and sneakily hiding them from her.
In September 2024, she revealed that she and Ryan Mitchell were expecting a baby girl. Tragically, Xiomara, their daughter, was born prematurely later that month and passed away following an emergency C-section. The actress shared this heartbreaking news the following October.
In terms of Susan’s ex-husband, Karl Mayer, his role in the show underwent various changes throughout its different seasons. Initially appearing as a recurring guest star during season one, he was upgraded to a series regular for season two. However, this status was reversed back to guest star in seasons three and four before being bumped back up to a recurring role in seasons five and six. Since the show ended, Mayer has made guest appearances on shows like Hawaii Five-0, General Hospital, and Devious Maids among others.
Furthermore, Karl Mayer has embraced fatherhood by taking care of children Samuel and Jack.
Originally turning down the part of Bree, Delany eventually took on the role of the enigmatic Katherine Mayfair in the series during its fourth season. However, she departed after season six to lead her own ABC show titled “Body of Proof.” Following the cancellation of that medical drama after three seasons, Delany was cast as a leading character in both “Hand of God” and “The Code.” Her resume now includes appearances on shows such as “Tulsa King,” “Mayans M.C.,” “O Hóspede Americano.
On “Desperate Housewives,” Bowen portrayed Susan’s daughter, Julie, a role she took on. After the series concluded, she appeared in the teen comedy “G.B.F.” and landed parts in various TV movies such as “Hall Pass Nightmare,” “Psycho Sister-In-Law,” and “A Wedding Wonderland.”
Post her time on “Desperate Housewives,” Bowen has continued to lend her voice for the English versions of Aerith Gainsborough in video games like “Final Fantasy Explorers,” “Mobius Final Fantasy,” and “Kingdom Hearts III.”

In addition, Metcalfe has been candid about his personal struggles, notably his battle with addiction. On an episode of the Eric Worre’s Network Marketing Pro podcast in February 2024, he shared: “Getting sober was a challenging journey for me that spanned over two decades since I first started using. I genuinely believe that these hardships have shaped me into the person I am today. They’ve given me an understanding and compassion that I carry in my professional work, as well as in my personal relationships. It wasn’t easy, but I cherish the depth they’ve added to my life.”
Currently, Metcalfe is still active in acting, most recently seen in “Clear Cut” and “Divine Influencer”, while also pursuing a career in music.
In the TV series, Mary Alice’s mysterious spouse Paul Young, played by Moses, featured in the first two seasons. He later reprised his role as a regular cast member during season seven. After the show ended its run, he has made appearances in movies such as “Cesar Chavez,” “Bombshell,” and “Reagan.” Moreover, he portrayed Duck Phillips on “Mad Men” and has acted in shows including “Salvation,” “The Last Ship,” “Deputy,” and “Alaska Daily.

Following Philip Seymour Hoffman’s 2014 overdose and tragic death, Pyfrom revealed in February of that year that he had been five months sober. On Tumblr, he wrote, “Knowing that if I could potentially save a life by sharing my story, but didn’t; that I would no longer be able to look myself in the mirror with the same pride I’ve allowed myself to have for overcoming the thing that nearly took my life.
MacLachlan, who played Orson, Bree’s second husband on “Desperate Housewives” from seasons three to six, chose to leave the show in 2010 due to the demanding cross-country trips between New York City and the set. However, he came back as a guest star during the final two seasons. Post his stint on the series, MacLachlan has been seen in films like “Inside Out,” “The House with a Clock in Its Walls,” “Tesla,” and “Blink Twice.” He also acted in shows such as “Portlandia” and “Agents of SHIELD,” and reprised his iconic role of Dale Cooper for the revival of “Twin Peaks” on Showtime in 2017, earning a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film.

He is married to Ruvé Robertson, with whom he shares children. Known for his deep Catholic faith, McDonough was let go from the leading role in the 2010 drama “Scoundrels” due to his unwillingness to film specific scenes involving romance.
Following a single season on Wisteria Lane as Angie Bolen, the actress previously known for her role in “The Sopranos” joined the cast of “Sons of Anarchy” during its 2014 finale. She also made appearances in films such as “Free Ride” and “Dark Places”, and had guest roles on “The Mindy Project” and “Agents of SHIELD”.
