Overlooked Elder Scrolls-Like RPG Tainted Grail Just Got a Gigantic Update on PS5

The Fall of Avalon” has recently received a significant update, introducing exciting new features and refinements aimed at rekindling player enthusiasm for the game.

This past May marked the debut of Tainted Grail on the PlayStation 5. Although it didn’t garner exceptional critical acclaim or massive commercial success, it certainly resonated strongly with a significant number of role-playing game enthusiasts.

While it’s true that the game has a somewhat awkward feel to it, if you’re willing to overlook its rough edges, you’ll discover a daring adventure with many elements skillfully executed. This game boasts intricate progression systems, thoughtful player choices, and captivating combat mechanics, all reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls series. In essence, it’s an RPG that echoes the spirit of The Elder Scrolls.

Actually, we’re somewhat sorry we couldn’t evaluate Tainted Grail earlier, but considering the extensive nature of this update, it might just end up on our list of games to play later.

Here’s an overview of said update from developer Questline:

  • New Game Plus (NG+),
  • transmog system,
  • various Forlorn Swords (Act 3) fixes and content additions (including much more loot to find everywhere, and 3 new caves),
  • third-person perspective camera improvements,
  • late-game console stability improvements,
  • new Qrko (the cute pet) forms, including a mount and a summon,
  • origin potion crafting recipe,
  • new weapons and armor sets,
  • 3 new dungeons, 6 new quests. A lot of other quest fixes, new rewards, dungeon redesign etc.,
  • a bunch of visual and audio updates all around (in-game, UI, etc.),
  • new enemy sound effects and a few extra tracks by Dzivia,
  • TONS of bug fixes and rebalancing all over the place,
  • and many, maaaany more

You can read the full (and incredibly long) patch notes on the game’s official Steam page.

This expansion could almost pass as additional downloadable content for Tainted Grail. If you’re already fond of the game, you’ll find plenty of fresh elements to discover. On the other hand, if you’re new to the game, it seems like you’re getting an enhanced and well-regarded version right from the start.
