The classic shoot-’em-up game titled “Truxton Extreme,” which is being revived, offers a cooperative mode. This means two players can play together. The publishers, Clear River Games, and developers, Tatsujin, have announced this. A demo of the game will be available to play at Tokyo Game Show 2025, happening from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

About
In the comfort of your couch, you might think you’re screaming alone, but “Truxton Extreme” introduces an innovative cooperative mode. Now, instead of facing the terrifying ordeals all by yourself, you can team up with other space fighters to safeguard Earth! With this feature, there will always be a supportive ear for your heart-stopping cries of defeat. Your teammates can even resurrect each other if the mission gets too intense, pulling you back from the brink of disaster. Together, you can use the powerful Thunder Laser to steer one another’s weapons towards the enemy using the armor of your spacecraft-that’s true teamwork! The ferocious tentacles, mechanical snakes, insect-like characteristics, and lethal spikes of the aggressive Geranium invaders won’t stand a chance against your cosmic defense squad as you guide them through a whirlwind of arcade-style, hordes-crushing action.
Initially crafted by Tatsujin CEO Masahiro Yuge in 1988, the pioneering shoot-em-up Truxton, tested your reflexes to their limit. Now, with a fresh take on the classic series, comes Truxton Extreme. Much like its predecessor, this game continues to honor the original vision and deeply rooted shooter DNA that made Truxton a beloved title during gaming’s golden age. With updated 3D graphics, relentless shooting action synonymous with the Truxton franchise, and the preservation of its unique design, the game now offers multiple modes, including an episodic digital comic-book that narrates the tale of the three main characters. The soundtrack for this new release is a harmonious blend of remastered Truxton tracks and original compositions created specifically for this game. Renowned for his classical piano training, Masahiro Yuge infuses the game with an additional layer of musical enchantment.
