Enthusiasts of J.J. Abrams’ version of the Star Trek films are in high spirits now that there seems to be a genuine chance for a new Star Trek 4 film. In a recent conversation, Zachary Quinto, who played Commander Spock in all three Star Trek movies, disclosed his continued interest in reprising his character for another installment, even though the last movie was released nearly a decade ago.
Zachary Quinto says he would ‘love to do’ Star Trek 4
The 48-year-old actor mentioned, during discussions about the upcoming second season of Brilliant Minds, his eager participation in reviving the paused Star Trek movie franchise for its continuation.
Zachary Quinto expressed his strong desire for another Star Trek film during an interview with Christina Radish from Collider. He’s puzzled as to why we haven’t had a new one yet, but he’s hopeful that the ongoing merger between Skydance and Paramount could make it happen. Since Skydance has financed all the Star Trek movies so far and been great collaborators in those films, Quinto is eager for another chance to explore the Star Trek universe.
Quinto articulated his desire to appear in another Star Trek film by stating, “It’s been over a decade since we filmed the last movie, and nearly a decade since it was released. I believe that it would be an incredibly fitting way to conclude that part of the story and the beloved characters we’ve all grown attached to over the years.
The former star of Heroes revealed that he recently reached out to J.J. Abrams, the director of the initial Star Trek films and producer for the third one, expressing his interest in Star Trek 4. He shared, “I actually emailed J.J. this week to express my enthusiasm, saying something like, ‘This would be a fantastic opportunity.’ I believe fans would eagerly anticipate and warmly embrace a concluding film.
Instead of closing his account, the actor who played Spock expressed his wish for a fourth Star Trek film, saying, “It would be fantastic if we could make another Star Trek feature. Let’s make it a reality.
As a passionate Star Trek fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for some news about Star Trek 4, but despite the inspiring words from Zachary Quinto, it seems that Paramount hasn’t released any official updates just yet.
