On September 25, the downloadable content “The Watcher” for the game “Rain World” will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This release coincides with version 1.5 update of the content and a significant update to the original game, as announced by publishers Akupara Games and developers VIDEOCULT.
Originally, I was all set to dive into the console version of the downloadable content alongside my PC gaming buddies on March 28. However, it seems like we’ll have to wait a bit longer as there’s been a delay in its launch.
In the upcoming update 1.5 for “The Watcher”, you’ll discover a variety of fresh locations, creatures, collectibles, gameplay elements, characters, storylines (including various conclusions), as well as an abundance of new artwork and soundtrack pieces.
In simpler terms, the upcoming significant improvement to the primary game includes more than 50 additional arena levels, a complete Arena Mode, and multiplayer collaboration mode (“Jolly Co-Op”) for “The Watcher,” as well as expanding the existing multiplayer feature to all five “Downpour” campaigns.
Here is an overview of the content, via Akpuara Games:
This year, PC players were already introduced to navigating the Watcher’s twisted, watery lair. Now, console gamers are eagerly anticipating their turn to sneak through the shadows, wriggle in the darkness, and transition between dimensions guided by the Watcher’s decisions for a newly discovered slugcat. What strategies will you need to employ to remain unseen?
Beyond just launching the game via console, Videocult is thrilled to unveil version 1.5 of “The Watcher”! This update introduces numerous areas to discover, fresh creatures, items, and gameplay mechanics, as well as new characters, paths (and conclusions), accompanied by a variety of new artwork and melodies.
Alongside the “The Watcher” campaign, the game “Rain World” is set to receive significant enhancements. These improvements will include over 50 new Arena maps, a complete Arena Mode, as well as Jolly Co-op support for “The Watcher”. Additionally, all five “Downpour” campaigns will receive retroactive Jolly Co-Op support. Players can anticipate various gameplay adjustments, patches, and updates aimed at improving the overall experience.
Right now, you can find the game ‘Rain World’ on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
