If you have a fondness for Sirens, our Borderlands 4 Vex construction is just what you need to create a formidable one to navigate the challenging urban landscape of Kairos.
Vex’s gear is perhaps the most captivating in the game, as it allows for the creation of duplicates, deals massive elemental harm, and summons a powerful pet wolf to attack opponents.
If you’re curious about Vex and want to know the ideal way to develop her as you progress in the game, you’ve landed on the perfect spot! Here, we’ve compiled an optimal Vex build for your convenience.
Borderlands 4 Vex build: Best Action Skill, Augments and upgrades
Among the Vault Hunters, Vex stands out as each of her Action Skills are equally effective, and we’ve chosen Dead Ringers due to its substantial damage potential in the early stages of the game.
With Dead Ringer, you can call upon duplicate fighters who join you in battle, inflicting damage. The damage these clones deal is amplified according to the enhancements you’ve applied to your personal weaponry.
Starting from the middle of the game, you should concentrate on activating your Attunement ability. This ‘attunes’ you to match the Elemental Type of your active weapon. In turn, your action skills and melee attacks will also take on that same elemental type.
Initially, it may not be crucial, but as you advance towards the mid-stage, it’s advisable to carry a minimum of two unique Maliwan weapons. This will help maximize your build potential and the effectiveness of your clones.
To make things easier for you, we’ve organized the guide with sections covering early stages, middle progress, and advanced levels.
Early game Vex build
At the onset of play, it’s beneficial to aim for maximizing your gun’s damage output since this aspect influences not just yourself but also your duplicates.
Initially distribute your initial five skill points towards Cold Iron, subsequently engage the Coven Enhancement. This action will cause both you and your minions to recover health while summoning a Reaper, and increase the critical hit probability while summoning a Specter.
After that, move on to the green Incarnate skill tree and invest another five Skill Points into the Grave Sights passive. This enhancement grants you and your clones critical damage, a feature that complements Coven effectively.
Up to Level 17, upgrade Grave Assault in the Dead Ringer tree, increasing your fire rate.
Up until Level 22, distribute your next five skill points into Blood Sacrifice, Grave Fiends, and Grave Quickening as you prefer. Blood Sacrifice triggers Kill Skills when your clones perish, while Grave Fiends boosts damage output and Grave Quickening decreases the cooldown time of your Action Skill. Enjoy the flexibility!
Mid game Vex build
After obtaining mid-game enhancements, it’s advisable to allocate your skill points initially towards Prismatic Weaponry. This passive ability enhances the damage you deal each time you score a critical hit with your weapon.
As an enthusiast, I can’t help but share this exciting tidbit! Every time you attune yourself with a distinct Elemental Type, the bonus amplifies. So, to ensure the greatest effect when summoning a clone, always switch up your elemental equipment!
Afterward, insert five additional points into the “Obedient Fiends” upgrade, enhancing both your original self and your clones with increased damage capabilities.
By activating this, your clones can completely rejuvenate their health, and they won’t sustain any damage while this ability is in effect (referred to as the Dark Pact Capstone).
As a devoted player, I’d recommend saving your second Augment for Wither, as it allows my Specters to inflict enemies with a 30% debuff when they attack!
End game Vex build
This is the point in our build where we really start to ramp up the damage.
Head back to the Skill Tree of Incarnation and invest five skill points into the enhancement called Grave Implements. This improvement will amplify your and your clones’ gun damage even more, and since you’ve chosen Blood Sacrifice, the benefits from this upgrade will now accumulate together.
When I reach Level 37, I like to boost my Sanguine Fiends through the Dead Ringer tree and amp up Grave Power in the Incarnate tree a few times over. This helps me keep my clones active for longer periods and maximizes the number of Kill Skills stacks I can accumulate.
Once you’ve added a couple of points to each skill, return to the Grave Fiends and ensure it’s fully upgraded.
Next, examine your ability to harmonize with different weapons. Based on the type of weapon you choose, select the corresponding Attunements for the relevant elemental categories.
If you find yourself lacking in Elemental weapons, think about redirecting a few skill points towards Target Precision within the Incarnate ability tree instead.
If you’re having difficulty maintaining the survival of your clones, particularly in Ultra Vault Hunter Mode, consider investing a bit in Diener. Boosting this skill will grant you an extra one or two uses of Dead Ringer, assisting you in keeping your clones alive if they seem to be fading too rapidly.
