Following their reunion after a period of apparent absence, it was Jenna Johnson who clarified the circumstances surrounding her dance partner’s location following their stint on Dancing With the Stars.

Jenna, 31, explained on the September 12th episode of the ‘Danielle With the Stars’ podcast that it was amusing because everyone assumed he was missing, as they hadn’t heard from him. However, she clarified that they were actually in touch the entire time. He had prior commitments to attend to, and both of them were aware that there would be periods where they wouldn’t be able to connect.

It turns out that the professional dancer openly stated she hadn’t interacted with Corey, aged 54, since the announcement of the cast for DWTS season 34 on September 3. This surprising fact emerged at a time when they were scheduled to begin rehearsals for the show’s premiere on September 16. However, despite Corey’s unexpected departure, Jenna expressed her appreciation for being back on the show.

Five days after, it was confirmed that Jenna finally had a meeting with The Lost Boys’ star. Now, as they’re focusing on practice, Corey is setting his sights on the goal.

Jenna stated during the podcast that he enters every rehearsal with an attitude of not seeking validation from others, but rather he’s enthusiastic about working diligently. This eagerness is fantastic because it shows his commitment, which is one of the most valuable qualities when looking for a new partner – they should genuinely want to participate and be present.

Indeed, the award-winning choreographer mentioned that Corey is receptive to mastering fresh dance moves, which they believe will boost their performance on the program, following their victory in the competition’s Mirrorball trophy with former “Bachelor” contestant Joey Graziadei last November.

She went on to say, “He admits openly that he has zero ballroom dancing background and lacks a partnering experience as well.” She finds it endearing that he asks to be treated as if he’s just starting out. He’s absolutely hilarious, she said, almost laughing, “Really funny.
