Is there anything spookier than horror films? Well, how about haunted chips and dip! With Halloween fast approaching, it seems your culinary creations could use a dash more Ghostface. Luckily, Spirit Halloween has got you covered with their exclusive ‘Scream’ kitchenware collection, ideal for your upcoming Halloween bash. Let’s delve into an authoritative list of these items, followed by my top picks from the 6 Scream movies so far.
Undoubtedly, the standout piece from the Scream collection is a Ghostface knife block, capable of holding up to four knives. Following closely behind is the Ghostface cookie jar, though it’s currently out of stock at Spirit Halloween but available for order at Spencer’s. Third on the list is an utensil holder shaped like Ghostface’s bloody knife. The collection concludes with a chip & dip set featuring miniature ghostfaces and knives, accompanied by a bloodied rim, and a Ghostface cutting board. All items range in price from $16.99 to $34.99.
Now, let’s discuss the sweet treat-my ranking of the Scream movies below:

If you’re not spending your free time getting ready for Halloween since September is already here and October is just around the corner, then what activities are you engaged in? Are you planning to host or attend a Halloween party? What costume do you have in mind for yourself? If these aren’t the questions on your mind, it might be time to gear up! Perhaps a horror movie marathon could help you get into the Spooky season spirit. The Scream series is an excellent choice for that, offering a perfect blend of terror and campiness.
While we await the release of Scream 7 (which has stirred controversy due to its fan-service approach), I thought it would be opportune to share my personal ranking of this amazingly terrifying and whimsical series with you. Although I won’t delve too deeply into each of these rankings, I hope that the following list will serve as a starting point for exploring this fantastic horror franchise. Here’s my ranking for your perusal:
1. Scream (1996)
2. Scream 3 (2000)
3. Scream 2 (1997)
4. Scream 4 (2011)
Scream 6
The beginning of Scream 6 is remarkable, reminiscent of the original, yet the rest falls short of expectations. The acting of Barrera improves significantly in this film compared to Scream 5, which is a plus. However, the recurring strategy of revisiting earlier films becomes tiresome, and that’s where this movie seems to lose its momentum. The return of Hayden Panetierre as Kirby is enjoyable, but her role lacks substance overall. Regrettably, Scream 6 didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
Scream 3 – Despite often being labeled as the weakest film in the series, Scream 3 offers some hilarious comedy and impressive performances. Parker Posey’s Jennifer Jolie is one of the standout (and funniest) characters in the franchise. Additionally, the Hollywood recreation of Sidney Prescott’s original home from Scream provides a more engaging revisit to the series origins compared to what was attempted in Scream 6.
Revisiting the Legacy – Scream 5
In this revisitation of our beloved series after an 11-year hiatus since Scream 4, Scream 5 truly shone as a comeback film, delighting fans and reminding us all why we fell in love with the franchise. The film’s inventive, grisly deaths even during daylight hours sent shivers down theatergoers’ spines. Jenna Ortega cemented her status as a Scream Queen, and the overwhelming positive reception earned another sequel a swift green light.
A Fresh Take on “Scream 4”
This film may not be universally appreciated, but its opening sequence is remarkably self-referential and sets the tone perfectly. After a decade-long break since “Scream 3,” “Scream 4” had some ground to cover, and it certainly did so emphatically, exceeding expectations in my view. If only “Scream 4” had been the starting point for the series in the 2010s, but alas, we had another decade-long wait before we saw more.
Placing ‘Scream 2’ Second Makes Perfect Sense”
“Positioning ‘Scream 2’ in second place just seemed fitting, as the very existence of a successful sequel is worth celebrating. ‘Scream 2’ welcomed back the main cast for another nerve-wracking escapade, yet managed to keep viewers hooked with gruesome deaths (poor Randy and Cici), along with a climactic scene brimming with symbolic imagery and shocking conclusions. ‘Scream 2’ holds a special place in my heart – it was the first ‘Scream’ I mustered the courage to watch alone, and it undeniably ignited my passion for horror movies.
Roar – The iconic figure, the tale told around campfires, “Roar” paved the way for all things terrifying. The shocking death of Drew Barrymore at the movie’s start made “Roar” an unforgettable part of horror cinema history. Since then, it has served as a model for numerous slasher films that came after. Its unique blend of humor and suspense is something that many have tried to replicate, but none have quite managed it like the original “Roar”. It remains the undisputed number one in the genre.
