The Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t truly take off until the Avengers team up together. Each film preceding The Avengers hints at a group forming, but it isn’t until Loki arrives on Earth that things start happening. Fortunately, once the secret is out, there’s plenty of action for Earth’s strongest heroes. They manage to vanquish Loki and take down HYDRA following Captain America’s sabotage of their global assassination plot. However, those good times are short-lived as the Avengers disband after Avengers: Age of Ultron, paving the way for new champions to emerge.
Although no version can surpass the initial Avengers squad, subsequent renditions of the team feature notable members worthy of recognition. Each hero brings something unique to the table, ensuring the team’s success until they disband for good. However, some individuals leave a more significant impression than others. Here are the top three Avengers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who joined after the original crew:

3) Sam Wilson
In the movie “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Steve Rogers forms a bond with a new ally during his citywide escapades in DC, and he finds himself needing to call upon this friend’s help right away. Assisting the title character in thwarting HYDRA, Sam Wilson eventually agrees to join forces with Rogers in their pursuit of Bucky Barnes. Taking breaks from their quest to place an aging visage on milk cartons, both characters engage in battle against Ultron, resulting in Sam becoming part of the team.
As an official Avenger, Sam stands by Steve’s side throughout the Sokovia Accord conflict and eventually joins the Secret Avengers. Despite being labeled a fugitive by the country he risked his life for, Sam battles to protect the world from Thanos’ forces. The years spent with the Avengers motivate the new Captain America to establish his own team, which will first appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
2) Wanda Maximoff
The battle against Ultron serves as an effective recruitment strategy for the Avengers, as Wanda Maximoff decides to join their mission following the loss of her brother in Sokovia. Subsequently, events move rapidly when a mistake she made in Lagos results in the formation of the Sokovia Accords. Despite this, she is continually learning and growing throughout the process. Ultimately, when the major confrontation takes place, she proves to be fully prepared.
In “Avengers: Infinity War,” Wanda faces a painful decision between saving Vision, whom she loves, and preserving the universe. She heartbreakingly sacrifices Vision using her own abilities. Regrettably, Thanos undoes time and still obtains the Mind Stone, leaving Wanda devastated and reduced to dust. Despite her descent into darkness following her resurrection, the Avengers would not have endured as long without Wanda’s presence.
1) Black Panther
In the movie “Captain America: Civil War,” Wakanda’s influence emerges globally as King T’Chaka and his heir, T’Challa, advocate for the Sokova Accords. However, their stance takes a tragic turn when Baron Zemo assassinates T’Chaka, leading T’Challa to ascend the throne. Seeking retribution, T’Challa learns the truth behind the decision and ultimately aligns himself with Captain America as a key ally.
During Infinity War, not only does T’Challa provide a safe haven to help mend Bucky’s mind, but he also offers Earth’s heroes a gathering place where they can unite. The strength of Wakanda causes Thanos’ army considerable trouble, and Black Panther takes the lead from the start in this battle. Without T’Challa, the Avengers would have been left struggling to find solutions.
