Chase Sui Wonders is ready to slay her next TV role.
The star of *Studio*, who wore a black Thom Browne gown to the 2025 Emmys, will be appearing with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the new *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* series on Hulu. She spoke highly of Gellar returning to play the famous character.
Chase told Emmys host Zuri Hall that Sarah Michelle Gellar is a true icon and is fully immersed in her current work. The conversation took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 14th.
The 29-year-old also mentioned that Sarah isn’t the only important person working on the upcoming sequel.
Director Chloé Zhao, who is a truly exceptional filmmaker, directed the project, and I really enjoyed the experience. It was a lot of fun.
Ever since the original *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* ended in 2003, people have talked about bringing the show back. But those plans never worked out. Recently, Sarah Michelle Gellar explained that the involvement of an Academy Award-winning director was the reason she started thinking about reprising her role as Buffy Summers.
“For so many years, I said no to a possible return of the series,” the 48-year-old said in an interview with Vanity Fair in June. “I didn’t want to reintroduce something we had already seen. I waited for the right time to come. Then Chloé, a big Buffy fan, proposed the project to me, and I accepted.”

Fans can look forward to plenty of familiar elements, but the creators also aim to introduce fresh ideas to the franchise.
Sarah explained they’re aiming for a mix of returning and new characters. While she’d love to revive all past characters, they also need room to introduce fresh storylines.
