Jennifer Coolidge Weighs in On Ozempic With Emmys 2025 Joke

Jennifer Coolidge is willing to be the butt of the joke.

At the 2025 Emmys in Los Angeles, a former star of *The White Lotus* presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She playfully joked about her own win at the 2023 Emmys for her work on the show created by Mike White.

Jennifer, who has previously won an Emmy, shared some surprising thoughts before announcing Jean Smart as the 2025 winner. She admitted winning isn’t as glamorous as people think, and jokingly revealed she was removed from a group chat with her fellow nominees after her win. (Find a complete list of the 2025 Emmy winners here.)

Jennifer, after winning the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama series, jokingly suggested that she and fellow nominee Elizabeth Debicki from *The Crown* were using the weight-loss drug Ozempic, which drew a lot of laughter from the audience.

Jennifer explained that she was originally supposed to join a trip to Ibiza, but then discovered she hadn’t been invited. She found out because she and Elizabeth Debicki get their Ozempic from the same doctor, and it sounds like Debicki’s medication is actually effective.

Jean won the award, beating out fellow nominees Uzo Aduba (The Residence), Kirsten Bell (Nobody Wants This), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear). She then gave a short, 42-second acceptance speech that delighted Emmys 2025 host Nate Bargatze.

Jean jokingly explained her slightly awkward walk, saying she’d broken her knee over the summer and it hadn’t fully healed. Accepting her fifth Emmy, she then spoke more seriously about how much she appreciated being able to publicly thank her colleagues. She praised her ‘unbelievable crew’ and ‘incredible cast,’ especially highlighting the talent of Hannah Einbinder, as well as her ‘beyond brilliant’ showrunners. Finally, she shared that her children are her biggest support system.

The 74-year-old, who had two children – 35-year-old Connor Gilliland and 17-year-old Forest Gilliland – with her late husband, Richard Gilliland, then added a simple message: “Let’s be kind to each other. Just be good to each other.”
