Developers TAITO and Bridge have unveiled “Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku Revival,” a complete overhaul of the bond-building simulation game “Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku” featuring completely updated graphics. This revamped version is set to hit Nintendo Switch consoles in Japan this winter.
Originally debuting on July 18, 1997 for SEGA Saturn and August 28, 1997 for PlayStation, the game known as “Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku” has been around since then. This series, comprising three primary games, two additional fan discs, and a special tribute title, has managed to sell a total of 750,000 copies. One reason for its popularity was the emphasis on camaraderie between characters of all genders, as opposed to romantic entanglements with one specific gender.
In the revival of “Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku”, the original character designer, moo, will be back on board, giving all characters a fresh update while preserving their unique traits and maintaining the original’s distinctive atmosphere with a contemporary twist. The developer, VRIDGE, has also recruited several team members who were part of the initial development of “Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku”, including the lead developers.
