Dancing With the Stars’ Bruno Tonioli Flubs Whitney Leavitt’s Score

Whitney Leavitt is doing a happy dance after this scoring mistake.

Reality TV star, known from *Secret Lives of Mormon Wives*, kicked off season 34 of *Dancing With the Stars* on September 16th. She danced the tango with professional dancer Mark Ballas, set to the song “Golden” by HUNTR/X.

Judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli seemed pleased, both initially giving a score of seven out of ten. But the official results on screen showed Bruno had actually submitted an eight, which cohost Julianne Hough pointed out.

She explained to them, “We just finished going through my ear. Bruno made a mistake and said ‘eight,’ but it’s actually fifteen, so we need to fix that.”

As Bruno, 69, laughed and shrugged off his flub, Julianne quipped, “We love live television.”

Indeed, Whitney and Mark wowed the judges with their live rendition of the tango.

Bruno described the performance as truly incredible and elegant. He particularly praised the tango, calling it exactly what it should be – a high-quality, no-frills dance.

Derek also called the dance “so beautiful.”

He praised her first performance, commenting on how lovely her posture, balance, and movements were. Then, he offered a small suggestion: ‘Just be mindful of staying centered and keeping your form consistent.’

Derek also gave a shout-out to his fellow judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, who was unfortunately absent due to illness and couldn’t be on the show.

Derek said, “If Carrie Ann were here tonight, she’d have loved that performance, and I’m sure she’s watching from home. Great job!”

Whitney, who recently had her third baby with husband Connor Leavitt just eleven months ago, was moved by the kind words, saying she felt “very grateful and honored.”
