After fans strongly criticized the planned downloadable content (DLC) and paywalled clans for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room have cancelled those plans.
Originally, two character classes, called clans, were only going to be available by purchasing extra downloadable content or the game’s most expensive version.
Once the news became public, the decision faced a lot of criticism, but that pressure has now led to a positive outcome. Both the Lasombra and Toreador clans will be included in the main game.

We listened to what our players said about Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition, and it’s clear they want the Lasombra and Toreador clans included with the core game. We’re making that happen,” says executive producer Marco Behrmann.
While the initial decision regarding the DLC wasn’t ideal, it’s good that things have been resolved positively. Plus, those who purchased the Premium Edition received refunds last week.
Paradox has confirmed that Bloodlines 2 will continue to receive paid downloadable content. They’ve revealed two ‘Story Packs’ planned for release in 2026, which will let players experience the game from different characters’ viewpoints.
If you buy the Premium Edition, these items are included. Otherwise, you can get them through the Expansion Pass for $34.99 (USD), £28.99 (GBP), or €34.99 (EUR). They will also be available to purchase individually for $14.99 (USD), £12.99 (GBP), or €14.99 (EUR).
