New Yakuza Game Leaks Ahead of Reveal

Okay, so it looks like a new Yakuza/Like a Dragon game just leaked before Sega and RGG Studio could officially announce it! They’re doing a livestream called the “RGG Summit” next week on September 24th to show off their new stuff, and it seems details about one of the reveals accidentally hit the web early. I’m super hyped to finally see what they’ve been working on, even if it wasn’t the way they planned!

Fans recently spotted a listing for *Yakuza Kiwami 3* on RGG Studio’s website. This likely indicates a remake or remaster of *Yakuza 3* for current gaming systems, similar to the *Kiwami* versions of the first two games. RGG Studio quickly removed the listing, but not before fans noticed it. It seems an announcement was in the works and was accidentally revealed prematurely.

Should Fans Be Excited About This New Yakuza Game?

Many fans are excited about *Yakuza Kiwami 3* for several reasons. After an eight-year gap since *Yakuza Kiwami 2*, some thought RGG Studio had stopped making “Kiwami” style remakes of the original *Yakuza* games. Although other *Yakuza* titles like *Like a Dragon: Ishin* have been remade since then, most people assumed the studio wouldn’t revisit the main *Yakuza* series in this way. Fortunately, it now appears that’s not true.

It will be interesting to see how RGG Studio updates *Yakuza 3* for today’s gamers. Many fans consider *Yakuza 3* to be one of the weaker entries in the series, so there’s a lot of potential to improve it with *Yakuza Kiwami 3*. However, some of the original game’s problems might be fundamental to the experience and difficult to fix completely. We shouldn’t have to wait much longer to get an official look at *Yakuza Kiwami 3* and find out what changes have been made.
