Update [Thu 18th Sep 2025, 9am]:
Fall Guys dev Mediatonic has failed to allay fears about the future of the game.
Responding to feedback online, the company issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) detailing its upcoming plans.
Here’s what caused the recent concern – these activities were found in the game’s latest update, according to data discovered by players.
“Where is the mention of new levels?” one user asked.
Honestly, seeing that list felt a little disappointing. It didn’t really show off anything *new* to do in the game, and it made me wonder if this is truly it, or if those were just the worst examples they could find to highlight. I’m hoping there’s more to come, because that list didn’t feel representative of the game’s potential.
I’ve noticed Fall Guys just hasn’t been as popular lately as when it first came out in 2020, and honestly, a lot of us fans are starting to worry it might even be canceled.
People have been concerned about the game’s future for some time because fewer players are active. Now, a recent update containing files related to the game’s sixth anniversary is causing even more worry among fans.
If you can do simple math, you’ll realize the sixth anniversary is planned for August of next year. Some players worry that the recent update only adds enough new content to keep things interesting until then.
The game’s files contain hints of many more cosmetic items and scheduled events, implying that the developers, Mediatonic, are planning to largely automate updates and content releases for the time being.
For years, people have predicted that Fall Guys might become part of Fortnite. This is because Epic Games, who owns both games, has already integrated elements of Fall Guys into Fortnite’s gameplay.
It’s likely the developers are focusing on a major update or a new game, and are letting Fall Guys gradually become less of a priority as they shift to other projects.
Unless Mediatonic addresses these concerns, it looks like current Fall Guys players have good reason to be worried.
