Who Is D4vd? What to Know About Singer Named in Death Investigation

D4vd has been linked to a shocking discovery.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always saddened to hear about tragic events. Recently, police in Los Angeles investigated a Tesla belonging to singer David Anthony Burke, known as ‘Romantic Homicide.’ They were alerted to a concerning smell coming from the car and, unfortunately, discovered human remains in the front trunk on September 8th. It’s a truly disturbing situation, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.

A little over a week after the discovery, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains were those of Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old who had been missing since April 5th, 2024.

I still can’t believe it. They said they couldn’t immediately determine how she died, and it’s just… awful. The official date of death is September 8th, the day they found her, but apparently, her body had been in that car for a while. They said it was… severely decomposed. It’s just heartbreaking to think about her being alone like that for who knows how long. I’ve been following this case so closely, and every detail just feels… wrong.

D4vd, who is currently touring North America and Europe in support of his first album, *Withered*, hasn’t commented directly on the investigation. However, a representative confirmed to NBC News that the 20-year-old has been made aware of the situation and is cooperating with authorities while continuing his tour.

TopMob News has reached out to D4vd’s rep for additional comment but has not yet heard back.

D4vd began his music career a few years ago by making songs to go with Fortnite videos he posted on YouTube. He later gained huge popularity on TikTok, where several of his songs, like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” became viral hits. Despite his success, he’s always stayed connected to his passion for gaming.

Interestingly, only five days before Rivas was found dead in his car, Fortnite had announced that D4vd had created the game’s first official theme song, titled “Locked & Loaded.”

He told *Variety* that Fortnite had a huge impact on his life and actually inspired him to start making music. He described creating the official song for the game as a special moment, feeling like things had come full circle. He explained that Fortnite provided him with a platform for creativity and connection, and he aimed to capture that same feeling in his new track.

He explained that the song was deeply personal, a way to express gratitude for the experiences that made him the artist he is today. He also shared that he still genuinely loves playing Fortnite.

D4vd is currently on his *Withered World Tour*, even after the discovery of Rivas’ body. He performed a concert in Seattle on September 17th, after Rivas had been identified. His next show is scheduled for September 19th in San Francisco.

D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and later moved to Houston, Texas, at the age of 13.

D4vd started his career by streaming games like Fortnite on YouTube, hoping to gain popularity. In 2021, he faced issues with copyrighted music in his videos, so he asked his mom for help.

He explained to Benny Blanco in an interview with *Hero* magazine (September 2024) that he felt lost and frustrated, telling his mom he wasn’t earning any money. She bluntly told him to start creating his own music and to stop bothering her. That’s when he realized he could actually try doing that himself.

D4vd, who hadn’t had any formal musical training beyond casual singing, began creating music using an app on his phone. His songs quickly gained popularity online, and as more of his original tracks went viral on TikTok, his music career really started to flourish.

He finally put out his first album, *Withered*, in April 2025, and quickly followed it up with his first tour around the world.

On September 8th, police were sent to a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a bad smell coming from a car, according to NBC News sources.

Los Angeles police discovered human remains inside a bag in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, known as the artist D4vd, in Hempstead, Texas.

According to police, the car was taken to the impound lot because it was left abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed on September 16th that remains found in a Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old who had been missing since April 5, 2024. She was 13 years old when she disappeared.

Records from the Medical Examiner’s Office, obtained by TopMob News on September 17th, show that a cause of death hasn’t been determined yet. While her body was found on September 8th, officials believe it had been in the car for a significant amount of time beforehand and was badly decomposed.

After Rivera’s body was found, a representative for D4vd told NBC News that the singer has been notified and is working with the police while continuing his tour.

D4vd’s concert in Seattle on September 17th was cancelled after his remains were identified. He is next scheduled to perform on September 19th in San Francisco.
