Marvel Studios is shifting its strategy for TV shows. Instead of releasing many series at once, they’ll focus on fewer shows with shorter, yearly seasons. This is meant to make the Marvel TV shows easier for viewers to keep up with. *Daredevil: Born Again* is central to this new approach. Production on Season 2 began before Season 1 even finished airing, and now, well in advance of Season 2’s release, Marvel has already confirmed plans for a third season.
Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, recently told IGN that a third season of *Daredevil: Born Again* is officially happening. He confirmed they’ve given the go-ahead and filming will begin next year.
Marvel Studios Is Very Confident in Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil fans will likely be happy to hear that Marvel is already planning ahead for the show’s future. Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, mentioned in July that while the team had ideas for a third season of *Daredevil: Born Again*, it depended on strong viewership and approval from Marvel executives. The fact that Marvel is moving forward with the show so confidently – even before Season 2 premieres in March 2026 – suggests they believe the new season will be excellent and viewers will want more.
Marvel’s Multiverse Saga has faced some challenges, and the first season of *Daredevil: Born Again* was part of that. Although critics generally liked the show – praising the acting and its serious approach – it didn’t attract a large audience. In fact, it was the first Marvel series not to appear on Nielsen’s list of the top 10 streaming shows. However, Marvel seems optimistic that season two will perform better, especially given the exciting way season one ended. The idea of Daredevil gathering a team to fight against Mayor Fisk’s control of New York City promises a lot of exciting drama and action.
Now that a third season has been confirmed, *Daredevil: Born Again* is poised to become the leading series for Marvel’s new TV strategy, much like the original *Daredevil* was for the Netflix shows. The new series is also bringing back familiar faces from those shows – Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones, and many believe Luke Cage actor Mike Colter will also return, though that hasn’t been officially announced. *Daredevil: Born Again* could potentially serve as a starting point for other series featuring these characters, building a team of heroes for television. This would echo the way the Netflix shows existed separately from the MCU films, but it could simplify things for viewers by focusing on one group of heroes on TV while the Avengers continue their adventures in movies.
Although Winderbaum didn’t give a specific date, filming for *Daredevil: Season 3* could begin early next year, similar to how Season 2 started in early 2025. If Marvel aims to release a new season each year, starting filming early would allow enough time for editing and other post-production work, potentially bringing Season 3 out in 2027. Fans will likely be watching for any clues about the new season – not only for *Daredevil*, but for what Marvel has planned for its other TV shows.
