PlayStation is giving away $100 in PSN credit with certain PS5 purchases. With major games like *GTA 6* and *Resident Evil Requiem* coming soon, as well as PlayStation exclusives like *Ghost of Yotei*, the next year looks fantastic for PS5 owners. *GTA 6* is expected to be a huge draw for new players. To encourage gamers to choose a PS5 over other consoles like the Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, or a new PC, Sony is offering this free credit, but you’ll need to buy a PS5 soon to take advantage of the offer.
Sony is currently emailing PlayStation Network users a $100 voucher for the PlayStation Store if they upgrade to a PS5 console by September 20th. Check your email inbox – attached to your PSN account – as you might have already received one. However, upgrading to the new PS5 Slim might be tricky, as it’s been hard to find in stock since the console’s price went up.
Who’s Receiving the Offer?
Some PlayStation Network users with PS4 consoles are reporting they’ve received a new promotional offer, but it doesn’t seem to be available to everyone – which is common for Sony promotions. If you bought a console before the offer started, but haven’t used it yet, you might still be able to redeem it if you received an email about the offer. However, this likely won’t apply to most people.
Okay, I know it might seem a little weird to still be playing on my PS4 in 2025, but honestly, it makes sense for a lot of people! In many parts of the world, the PS4 is still the most popular console because it’s more affordable. And the best part? Even though the PS5 has been out for five years, we *still* get awesome new games on the PS4! It’s great that I don’t have to upgrade just to play the latest releases.
