Sequels often disappoint, but DreamWorks Animation is known for making excellent follow-up movies – sometimes even better than the originals. They’ve successfully expanded popular films like *Shrek*, *Kung Fu Panda*, and *How to Train Your Dragon* into full-fledged franchises. While many of these movies are easy to find on streaming services, one beloved sequel that was recently removed has now found a new streaming home.
The popular animated musical *Trolls Band Together*, from DreamWorks Animation, is now available on Prime Video. It hadn’t been on a major streaming service since leaving Netflix in May. This is the third *Trolls* movie, following *Trolls World Tour* (2020), and brings back Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake as Poppy and Branch. They’re on a new adventure because Branch’s brother has been kidnapped by a pair of aspiring pop stars, leading Branch to reconnect with his former bandmates, BroZone.

Trolls Band Together delivers everything fans love about the Trolls movies – vibrant animation, lovable characters, and a fantastic voice cast. The film boasts a stellar lineup of stars, including Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Icona Pop, Kenan Thompson, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, Camila Cabello, and Amy Schumer, alongside catchy new songs like “Better Place,” “Mount Rageous,” and “BroZone’s Back.” A special treat for adults is the reunion of *NSYNC members JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick, who lend their voices to a new band in the movie.
I absolutely loved *Trolls Band Together*! It’s such a feel-good movie the whole family can enjoy. Even though critics gave it a 64%, which is the lowest score for a *Trolls* film, audiences clearly disagree! It actually has the highest audience rating in the series, with a fantastic 92% on Rotten Tomatoes – they even gave it the “Verified Hot” label. People are really connecting with its positive vibes, and everyone seems to agree the story and songs are great for all ages. Plus, it did incredibly well at the box office, bringing in $209 million worldwide – a huge success!
Other Family-Friendly Movies Now on Prime Video
Prime Video offers more than just *Trolls Band Together* for family movie night. In September 2025, the platform added *The Boss Baby*, a popular 2017 animated film from DreamWorks Animation. The movie features Alec Baldwin as the voice of the main character-a baby in a suit-who works with his older brother (age 7) to prevent a big fight between babies and puppies.
It’s a little tough to find new family movies right now, but Amazon’s got us covered! They just added a couple of new titles to their already great selection, which includes favorites like *The Addams Family*, *Sonic the Hedgehog 3*, *The Super Mario Bros. Movie*, and *Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie*. We’re definitely set for family movie nights!
