The world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is always dangerous, but nighttime is especially challenging due to poor visibility. Update 1.6 aims to change that, offering players Night Vision Goggles to help navigate the darkness – though it won’t make survival any simpler. While the goggles will improve visibility, the dangers from both humans and the environment will remain very real.
Night Vision Goggles make it easier to see in the dark and let you aim more effectively, even tilting your weapon for better control. You can also get versions with laser pointers, but they cost coupons. Be aware that enemies will also have Night Vision Goggles, so be prepared! This update also introduces new behavior for enemy NPCs: they’ll actively hunt and scavenge loot from fallen mutants.

The Zone is becoming more hazardous with a new anomaly called the Fireball, and it’s aptly named. Getting too close results in intense heat and can instantly burn anyone nearby.
The newest update keeps the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on track, and GSC Game World is dedicated to supporting the game for the foreseeable future. Update 1.6 also improves the rewards you find while scavenging, and includes various bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. You can find a complete list of changes on the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 website.
