Dani Dyer has had to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing after breaking her ankle while practicing for the show.
Dani shared that she injured her ankle while practicing for this weekend’s show. She first thought it was just a sprain, but it quickly started to swell. A scan later revealed she actually had a fractured ankle.
Dani shared that she unfortunately has to leave the show because she fractured a bone and doctors have advised against continuing to dance, especially after attempting the quickstep with the injury.
I’m absolutely devastated! I’m going to miss dancing with Nikita so much, but I’ll definitely be watching and rooting for everyone else on the show.

Sarah James, from BBC Studios, said that Dani brought a lot of energy and happiness to Strictly, and her dancing with Nikita had begun brilliantly. Everyone involved with the show is very upset that she can’t continue competing this year.
We’re sending her our love and hoping she feels better soon. We look forward to seeing her dance with us again someday.
It’s still unclear if Dani will return for the 2025 season of Strictly, but the show has dealt with cast changes before.
Let me tell you, the 2019 season of *Strictly Come Dancing* had a bit of a dramatic start! Jamie Laing unfortunately had to pull out due to an injury, and Kelvin Fletcher stepped in practically at the last minute. Honestly, I didn’t expect much considering how late he joined, but he absolutely blew everyone away! He and Oti Mabuse were incredible, and they ended up taking home the trophy – a truly surprising and well-deserved win.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday 27th September at 6:55pm.
