Buckle up! The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta is about to get bumpy.
Activision has revealed that players will be able to try out the new Zombies Survival mode, part of the ‘Ashes of the Dead’ experience in Black Ops 7, during the game’s upcoming beta test.
Players who pre-order Black Ops 7 or are Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get early access to the game starting at 10 AM Pacific Time / 1 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, October 2nd. This early access period will last for 72 hours.
The open beta will be available to everyone starting Sunday, October 5th at 10 AM Pacific Time / 1 PM Eastern Time. It will close on Wednesday, October 8th at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
The latest trailer for the Zombies game showed off a new vehicle called the Wonder Vehicle. It’s an old-fashioned farm truck that’s been upgraded with everything a team needs to survive a zombie attack.
The Wonder Vehicle, known as Tessie, will be the main way players get around the new, expanded map, which takes inspiration from the TranZit map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Although the full Zombies experience and the Ashes of the Damned campaign won’t be available, players can still enjoy Zombies through the new Zombies Survival mode. This mode takes smaller sections of the main Zombies maps and turns them into compact arenas for faster-paced, more intense action.
Black Ops 7 is planned to include multiple maps for the Zombies Survival mode, but so far, only Vandorn Farm has been revealed.

Farm is a compact Zombies map designed around a countryside property. It features wooden fences, a barn, and an abandoned farmhouse. Inside the barn, you’ll find swinging zombie bodies, and a loft area that can quickly become a dangerous trap, letting players get surrounded by zombies – just like classic Zombies gameplay!
The trailer offers glimpses of the farmhouse, highlighting the skeletons seated at a decaying feast around the dining table. The Farm also features new traps involving saws and bouncy jump pads.
The new gameplay trailer finally shows off the Wonder Vehicle and its add-ons, but players probably won’t get much time to use it during the beta. The beta’s smaller maps, such as Farm, are designed for standard arena battles and aren’t a good fit for vehicle-based gameplay.
I’ve noticed a couple of changes in the game. Now, there are new sounds that will warn you when the Zombies are getting stronger. Also, if you slide into them, you can knock them down, but it won’t do a lot of damage.
Treyarch announced some updates to the enemies in the upcoming Black Ops 7. Players will now hear audio cues when Zombies get stronger, and sliding into them will knock them down, though it won’t do a lot of damage.
Armored zombies have been rebalanced. They can no longer move as quickly in later rounds with their ‘Super Sprint.’ Their armor is now easier to damage with regular bullets, but can withstand more explosive damage. The developers also hinted that specific weapon attachments and combinations will be particularly effective against these zombies, though they haven’t shared those details yet.
Before the Beta begins, developers also shared updates to Zombies’ in-game money, challenges, and power-ups. Players can see these changes in action during the Call of Duty NEXT event on September 30th.

After the Call of Duty NEXT event, players will be able to try out Zombies Survival and the multiplayer mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during the beta test. To get early access to the Black Ops 7 beta, you need to preorder either the standard or vault edition of the game on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.
You can also get early access beta codes by following Call of Duty’s partnerships and watching live streams, especially during the Call of Duty NEXT event.
As an analyst, I can confirm that players with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriptions will get to try out the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta early, and they won’t need to buy anything extra to do so.
