Among the upcoming games I’m eagerly looking forward to is NASCAR 25. Being an ardent NASCAR enthusiast, the news that iRacing is developing this game has boosted my anticipation.
We currently lack substantial details about it. No official launch date has been announced yet, and apart from the developer updates, there’s very little video footage available to give us a glimpse of its appearance.
In a recent playtest, I was fortunate enough to catch a fleeting peek as iRacing put their product through its paces with actual NASCAR drivers.
In the initial picture, you can see William Byron, the driver from Hendrick Motorsports, sitting down and apparently playing NASCAR 25. This appears to be the most distinct representation we’ve seen so far, giving us a glimpse into the gameplay and user interface.
In many past developer diaries, we’ve been treated to footage of game engines, close-ups of vehicle exteriors, and similar scenes. While we’ve glimpsed interior shots of a Cup Series car, there hasn’t been much substantial content shown so far.
Based on the provided image, there isn’t a lot to conclude, but it appears nothing seems out of the ordinary at first glance. In essence, everything looks quite normal so far.
Luckily, the last picture suggests that positive updates are imminent. Over the next few weeks, around 6-7 weeks, we’ll likely get additional information about the game, such as official images, character lineup, and music tracks.
A full gameplay reveal is planned for late August, which coincides with Gamescom.
Enduring the wait may be challenging, yet I remain optimistic that it’ll prove rewarding. The previous NASCAR game left much to be desired, but the Heat series had its moments, albeit limited ones. However, iRacing holds immense promise for delivering an exceptional experience.
On your personal computer’s primary simulation, you can experience something remarkably akin to racing a NASCAR vehicle, albeit virtually. iRacing meticulously scans its tracks and boasts unrivaled physics, and soon, some of that proficiency might be accessible on gaming consoles as well. I’m thrilled at the prospect!
But for now, I, like every other fan, will keep on waiting. Impatiently.
