Okay, so the guessing game about who’s going to be the next James Bond is absolutely wild right now. But a new report is suggesting that if you’re hoping for someone like Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, or Aaron Taylor-Johnson to step into those shoes, you might be disappointed. It sounds like the producers are leaning in a different direction, and those popular fan-casts might not be happening after all.
According to a new report from Deadline, the filmmakers behind the project – including director Denis Villeneuve – are searching for an up-and-coming actor, someone relatively new to the screen, to take on the role. They’re looking for a man likely between 28 and 32 years old, with filming expected to begin in 2027 and the movie planned for release in 2028.
This plan would likely mean Jack Lowden, a favorite among fans thanks to his role in Slow Horses, wouldn’t be considered, as he’d be 37 years old by then.
The report also notes the actor will need to be male, British and physically imposing.
According to a source, the person they’re looking for needs to be physically intimidating – someone who looks like they could easily overpower you. Their strength should be obvious the instant you see them.

Insiders suggest the next James Bond film might explore Bond’s early career as a Royal Navy Commander and his journey to becoming a 007 agent. However, these plans aren’t final and could still be altered.
According to sources, the next James Bond doesn’t need to be white. The producers are prioritizing finding an actor who is the best fit for the character and the direction of the new films, led by Denis Villeneuve and Guy Ritchie.
The show’s producers have received a surprisingly large number of proposals from people hoping to contribute to the production.
According to a source, they’re receiving a huge number of actor submissions – both from famous names and lesser-known talents. However, the casting process hasn’t started yet and won’t begin until Denis Villeneuve completes work on the Dune film.
Denis Villeneuve began filming the third Dune movie, titled Dune: Part Three, earlier in 2024, and it’s currently scheduled to come out on December 18, 2026. However, many believe the release date might change because it’s expected to compete directly with the new Avengers movie, ‘Doomsday,’ in theaters.
Screenwriter Knight is also busy with several upcoming projects, including another season of SAS Rogue Heroes, a Peaky Blinders movie, and a second season of A Thousand Blows. His newest series, House of Guinness, recently premiered.
