In Final Fantasy 14, fresh merchandise frequently becomes available on the Mog Station for real-world currency purchases. I’ve made transactions from this platform before and likely will do so again, but I won’t voice my opinion about spending real money on cosmetics or similar items. In fact, I recently spent some money there to acquire the Warden’s Attire, which serves as a point of reference for me to highlight the staggering cost of the latest outfit. This high price could potentially indicate an upward trend in Mog Station item prices in the future as well.
The latest ensemble on Mog Station is called the Belt-leather Attire. While it’s not the most ornate outfit offered, the complete set consists of two types of boots, two types of pants, a top, gloves, and a hat. To acquire this full set, you need to buy three items from Mog Station: Belt-leater Attire (Trousers), Belt-leather Attire (Cropped Slops), and the Belt-leather Beret and Fingerstalls Set. In US dollars, this comes to a total of $42. If you’re content with just one full set and don’t mind not having both pant and boot options, it will cost you $24 instead.

An Expensive Shift for the Mog Station
I won’t be purchasing the leather belts from Mog Station because they are too expensive compared to other options, such as the Warden’s Attire. However, I must admit that I’ve noticed some stunning glamours created using them. Unfortunately, the price difference is significant, and the level of detail on the leather belts doesn’t match up to that of the Warden’s Attire.

To clarify, purchasing the complete Warden’s Attire including the hairstyle will cost $23. If you prefer just the outfit without the hairstyle, the price decreases to $18. The items included in this outfit are: The Warden’s Wreath, The Warden’s Dress, The Warden’s Vambraces, The Warden’s Tanga, The Warden’s Thighboots, and The Warden’s Earring. It is worth noting that for the same price, the Belt-leather Attire provides less items compared to the Warden’s outfit, making it seem like a better value for money when choosing the Warden’s Attire.
It’s reasonable to find the high price of the Belt-leather Attire troubling given the features it offers compared to other options. Given the ongoing struggle to maintain player numbers in Final Fantasy 14 with the release of Dawntrail, Square Enix might be attempting to boost their revenue by increasing prices on items from the Mog Station. Unfortunately, the game hasn’t been delivering content that keeps players engaged or encourages them to renew their subscriptions. Even updates focused on improving the quality of life often fall short at this point. The success of the next major update in August could determine whether Mog Station prices continue to rise due to a decrease in active players.
