This Exciting PS5 Single Player Game Is Not Resident Evil, But It Sure Looks Like It

It’s been exciting to see some games appear unexpectedly in recent years. A great example is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a new game from an up-and-coming team that’s quickly become a hit.

Keep an eye on Project Renegade: The Becoming – this single-player action game, inspired by Resident Evil, looks promising.

The game is being created by Invercity Game Works, a Chinese studio about which we haven’t been able to find much information.

It looks fantastic! This game is a classic third-person shooter, but with a fun twist – instead of simply shooting zombies, you’ll be combining gunplay with acrobatic moves and skillfully managing your ammo.

Here’s how the official blurb introduces the plot:

In 1995, a last-ditch effort to save humanity, known as Project Retrograde, failed when a dangerous ancient parasite called L.U.C.A. emerged. You play as a bounty hunter who has bonded with this parasite, and must use its incredible, but risky, power to save the world – even if it means being consumed by it.

I’m really excited about this! Apparently, we’ll be getting these special skills – they’re called ‘parasitic skills’ – and we can actually improve them as we play through the game. That means we’ll get stronger and better in combat the more we use them, which is awesome!

Explore a world after the apocalypse, where old technology still exists. You can control the underground weather using the LUX system, or climb massive towers to discover hidden areas and a long-lost secret.

We don’t have a specific release date yet, but the game is being developed for PS5 and appears to be quite demanding on the console’s hardware.

This game is clearly influenced by Resident Evil, but it stands out as another visually impressive title coming from China. We’re seeing a lot of high-quality games developed there recently, aren’t we?
