The Final PS5 Exclusive of the Year Is Almost Here

The gaming world has seen some big changes this year, especially regarding exclusive games. For a long time, certain titles were only available on specific consoles, but that’s changing. Microsoft has started releasing games like *Forza Horizon 5* on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, and it’s been a huge success. Sony, while still offering exclusives, has also joined this trend with *Helldivers 2*, their first PS5 game to appear on Xbox. As the year closes, Sony is preparing to launch what will be their last exclusive game for the PS5 in 2025.

I’m seriously hyped for *Ghost of Yotei*! As a huge fan of *Ghost of Tsushima*, I’ve been following all the news, and it looks incredible. Sucker Punch is really pushing this game, and for good reason – going back to Japan with the same team that made *Tsushima*? It’s going to be gorgeous and totally immersive. Honestly, I can see why Sony’s saving this one for the end of the year – it’s a big deal!

What To Expect From Ghost of Yotei

There’s a lot of anticipation for *Ghost of Yotei*, especially since its predecessor was a critically acclaimed PlayStation 4 game. I loved the first game for its immersive world, exciting battles, and respect for historical detail. Sucker Punch is hoping to build on that success with *Ghost of Yotei*, offering players something both recognizable and new. As the final PlayStation 5 exclusive of the year, there’s significant pressure on this game to live up to the high standard set by *Ghost of Tsushima*.

The sequel will feature a brand new story and a different main character. This new protagonist, Atsu, is driven by revenge, and his journey will explore complex moral issues, a departure from the more straightforward goals of the previous hero, Jin. This change is expected to divide fans, potentially sparking discussions similar to those surrounding *The Last of Us Part II*. Beyond the story, the game’s combat system has been significantly improved, offering players more options and flexibility. The world itself has also been expanded with richer details, smarter enemies, and the high level of refinement players expect from Sony games.

Early reviews of *Ghost of Yotei* show it’s a fantastic sequel, building on the success of the original *Ghost of Tsushima* in almost every way. Sucker Punch improved the gameplay with more engaging combat, a more compelling story, and a larger world to explore. As 2025 comes to a close, *Ghost of Yotei* is being hailed as a perfect end to the year, and a prime example of why PlayStation exclusives are considered the best in the industry.

Sony’s Plans For 2026 After Ghost of Yotei

As a PlayStation fan, I’m really excited about the future! While *Ghost of Yotei* might be the last big PS5 exclusive we get this year, 2026 is looking incredible. I’m especially hyped for *Marvel’s Wolverine* – it’s coming in Fall 2026 and the recent State of Play gave us a really detailed look at the game. From what I’ve seen, Insomniac is clearly aiming for a game that feels like it jumped straight out of the comics, and they’re really capturing how intense and brutal Wolverine’s fighting style is. We’ll get even more details next Spring, which I can’t wait for!

During the recent State of Play presentation, Housemarque announced the release date for their new game, *Saros*. Though not a sequel to *Returnal*, *Saros* promises the same captivating roguelike experience. The gameplay trailer gave players a glimpse of what to expect, and confirmed a release date of March 20th. We can likely anticipate more gameplay reveals and marketing materials if Sony holds another State of Play before launch.

Rumors about new games in popular franchises like *God of War*, *Uncharted*, and *Bloodborne* are common. While Sony has so far only released a special edition controller, fans are hoping for full games. *Ghost of Yotei* seems important because it’s the kind of experience players want and highlights how strong Sony’s own game series are. Sony has a lot of potential going forward, and 2026 could be a huge year for them.
