Capcom has delivered on its promise – Title Update 3 for Monster Hunter Wilds is here, and it includes the long-awaited collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV.
A significant new update for Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on both consoles and PC. Update 1.030.010 includes a new quest, a new monster variation, and a host of other additions, so expect a large download.

Major Additions and Changes
Monsters
– The FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Special Collaboration will begin starting Monday September 29, 2025.
– FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Special Collaboration extra missions have been added.
Okay, so I’m super excited – they’ve added the Nerscylla Clone! You need to get to Hunter Rank 41 and then take on an extra mission to actually unlock it. Can’t wait to try it out!
We’ve added a new planet, Omega Planetes! You can unlock it by completing an additional mission that becomes available after reaching HR 41 or higher.
A new, very challenging permanent quest, Omega Planetes (9★ difficulty), is now available. You can accept the quest at the Quest Counter once you reach Hunter Rank 100 and finish the Omega Planetes extra mission.
– Arch-tempered Nu Udra has been added. (It will be made available in a future Event Quest.)
– Quests targeting monster packs will now appear.
You can now fight both regular and tempered Lagiacrus in the Wounded Hollow after reaching Hunter Rank 100.
– Additional 9★ tempered monsters (Blangonga etc.) have been added as event quests.
Player
– New equipment and skills have been added.
– New pendants and stickers have been added.
– New gestures and more have been added.
– New Seikret decorations have been added.
– Icon colors has been altered to better differentiate options in Bowgun customization.
– The Equipment Appearance Set has now been added to the View Loadouts menu.
We’ve added new collectibles: widgets earned by completing quests, rewards based on weapon use, endemic life keychains, and aquatic life ink imprints.
A new support hunter named Kai, who plays the hunting horn, has been added to the game. You’ll be able to team up with him on quests after finishing the main mission called “A Hunter’s Pride.”
While practicing in the training area, the Blackest Night and Pictomancy abilities won’t have their usual cooldowns. Also, the Blackest Night’s shield will break after taking just one hit.
Base and Facilities
– New pop-up camp gear options have been added.
– A new Festival of Accord event will be held from October 22 to November 12, 2025.
During the Festival of Accord, several things will be temporarily changed, including the Handler’s Outfit, decorations in Seikret and the Grand Hub, the Diva’s song choices, what’s available at the Canteen, and the Barrel Bowling game – including its bombs.
– In the Grand Hub, The Diva’s song list has been updated.
– Scores for each target and a daily high score count has been added to Barrel Bowling.
– Added new pin setups to Barrel Bowling.
You can now find your saved Loadouts in more places! They used to only appear in the Equipment Menu inside the tent, but now you’ll also see them in the Item Menu and in the Camp Item Box outside the tent.
Misc.
A new optional mission, “The Artifact’s Words,” is now available after you finish the main story mission, “What Lies Ahead.”
A new optional mission, “The Beacon of Invasion,” is now available. You can start it after finishing the “The Artifact’s Words” mission.
– New endemic life has been added.
The game will now remember your preferred Support Hunters. Keep in mind that the available Support Hunters change depending on your quest and progress, so sometimes your first choice might not be available. If that happens, another Support Hunter will join your team instead.
– You can now set your Quest Completion Animations.
We’ve added a new display option for your Item Bar. Selecting option 3 will only show special items and those used with a sling when you’re aiming or in focus mode.
A warning message will now show up in the Control Configuration settings if you’ve assigned the same key to more than one action.
You can now choose a specific keyboard shortcut to use when you press the ‘Switch to Keyboard Shortcut’ key. This option works whether you’re using just a keyboard or a keyboard and controller.
– Palico support moves can now be toggled on or off.
Okay, so I noticed a really cool change with my Palicoes! Before, sometimes they’d try to do that Rath-from-Above attack *while* I was already getting beat up and needed a heal. Now, they’re way smarter – if I need healing during Rath-from-Above, they’ll ditch the attack and focus on getting me patched up instead. It’s a huge quality of life improvement, honestly!
– A Palico Dialogue Frequency option has been added.
Now, when you select a quest waypoint or target, the closest Pop-up Camp will be automatically shown at the top of your Fast Travel list. Quest targets are assigned to you automatically when you start a quest.
We’ve updated the Quest Counter menu so the cursor now automatically focuses on the Assignments section when you open it. Plus, the menu will now remember where you last left the cursor, even if you close and reopen the game.
– Squad leader privileges will now be automatically transferred after 30 days without logging in.
– Squad requests can now be sorted.
– Added a new option regarding Support Hunters in quest options for Free Challenge Quests.
– Added Set Passcode and Allow Other Hunter Friends to Join options in Link Party settings.
You can now create private lobbies that are discoverable through the Hunter Friend Search. When setting up a lobby, simply enable the “Joinable via Hunter Friend Search” option to make it visible in the Lobby Search’s Hunter Friend section.
– Added option to appear offline.
– Added Conversation Log to the start and tent menus.
We’ve added a shortcut so you can go directly to the reinforcement screen while viewing Forging Artian Weapons.
– Added sorting functionality to Forging Artian Weapons, Reinforce, and Dismantle screens.
– Added Switch Lighting option to the Check Endemic Life screen.
– Supply items distributed at the start of a quest are now distributed earlier than before.
– Added shortcut that moves to Equipment Appearance directly from the Change Equipment screen.
– Training settings will now be remembered after returning to the title screen or ending the game.
– A Facilities/NPCs map icon filter has been added, making it easier to find important NPCs.
The list of updates now includes regular monsters that weren’t previously shown in Environment Overview Updates.
– The map can now be zoomed even while the Filter Icons menu is open.
As a long-time fan, I’m really glad the developers addressed that little annoyance with the ‘Return’ option! Now, when you hit ‘Return’ after starting the game or talking to Alma, the cursor automatically goes to ‘No’ instead of ‘Yes’. It’s a small change, but it makes navigating those menus so much smoother!
Bug Fixes & Balance Adjustments
Bases and Facilities
Monsters won’t automatically attack Pop-up Camps anymore. These camps will now show a “Caution” threat level.
– Destroyed Camp Gear Options will now be repaired when repairing a destroyed Pop-up Camp.
We fixed a bug that caused your primary and secondary weapons to accidentally swap when you performed certain actions.
– Fixed an issue where the Shell Hammer layered weapon could not be unlocked.
– Layered weapon settings have been added for some bowguns that are not fully upgraded.
Monsters
– Lagiacrus will now appear after resting when choosing Plenty in the Scarlet Forest.
Hey, so I was getting frustrated with Lagiacrus constantly hitting back right after I blocked with a Power Clash. Good news – the developers fixed that! Now there’s a little more breathing room after a successful clash, so you’re not immediately getting punished. It feels way better now!
We fixed a problem that caused Lagiacrus and Seregios to get stuck repeating the same actions when players tried to attract their attention.
We fixed a bug where a message about Pitfall Traps would show up over and over, and Lagiacrus wouldn’t come out of the water if it fell into a trap while also starting to submerge.
We fixed a bug that prevented Dung Pods and Luring Pods from working on Arch-tempered Uth Duna when it charged and created waves.
We fixed a bug in online play where only the player or the monster would show a reaction after a successful Offset Attack or Power Clash. Now, both will react as expected.
Player
General
You can now start a crouch movement immediately after putting your weapon away or landing while putting it away.
We fixed a bug where the Coalescence skill would unexpectedly trigger when you were healed from a harmful effect, even if you weren’t actually sick or injured.
Mantle cooldowns will now refresh whenever you begin or complete a quest. This doesn’t apply to Field Surveys that don’t have a loading screen.
– Fixed an issue where using certain controls while swimming would open the map.
Great Sword: We fixed a bug that prevented guarding while aiming down the sights in Focus Mode under specific circumstances.
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I’ve noticed a fix for the Dual Blades! They tweaked Turning Tidedrill so it doesn’t keep going on forever under weird situations anymore. It feels much smoother now, which is awesome when I’m trying to chain combos!
Lance now covers more ground when using Leaping Thrust, Mid Thrust I, and Payback Thrust, even if you’re not moving directly forward while your weapon is drawn. This improvement makes it simpler to fine-tune your positioning, especially if you prefer control type 2.
Switch Axe users can now dodge faster immediately after using Element Discharge, and also after finishing a Focus Assault: Morph Combination Element Discharge.
Charge Blade: A bug has been fixed where players weren’t getting the Element Boost benefit after performing a Perfect Guard at the wrong moment with the Shield: Elemental Boost skill.
We’ve boosted the attack and defense of Support Hunters when the quest leader reaches Hunter Rank 75 or 100 and above.
– Boosted Support Hunter stats during high-difficulty quests.
– Adjusted the behavior of Support Hunters when mounting a monster.
We’ve resolved a problem where the visual effects and functionality of Support Hunter abilities didn’t align correctly in Arena and Challenge Quests.
– Fixed an issue where Rosso would not attack while waiting near a trap.
– Fixed an issue where Mina would repeatedly use focus attacks against wounds she could not reach.
We fixed a bug where the Seikret wouldn’t run at full speed to the Hunter if you called it, left the base camp or settlement without riding it, and then tried to reach it.
Seikret can now drop down from ledges even when not running at full speed. Previously, they needed to be sprinting to make those jumps. This means you can now access ledges while using items or in situations where you can’t run at top speed. (This change won’t apply during certain story missions.)
Miscellaneous
System
PlayStation®5
We fixed a bug where PlayStation 5 activity progress could get stuck at 95%, even after you’d finished everything.
We’ve resolved a problem where Nulberries were incorrectly appearing in the supply items for Seregios quests. We’ve also added Wild Jerky to the list of available supplies for these quests.
– Difficult contributions will now be more likely to appear in the Hunter Highlights.
We fixed a problem that caused the wrong message to appear when checking the leaderboard for a new Free Challenge Quest. Previously, it incorrectly said the quest had already happened and showed old results.
We’ve fixed a problem that incorrectly flagged Alpha Doshaguma Field Survey quests as fraudulent when players accepted or joined them.
Hey everyone, awesome news! They’ve added four new quests that are always available, and they all give you a chance to snag ore and armor spheres. I’m definitely checking out “Tongue-Tied,” “Wreaking Havoc in Wyveria,” “Chemicus Nocturnus,” and “Careening Out of Control” ASAP. Seems like a great way to farm some useful stuff!
Other
– Fixed an issue where some voice lines would not trigger properly.
– Fixed various text issues.
– Fixed other miscellaneous issues.
With a patch this big, don’t be surprised if something breaks, which will then need a follow-up update. If Capcom releases one, expect it here on esXX.
