It’s Not Fixed Yet, But Borderlands 4 Still Wants You Hyped for Its First DLC Character

Gearbox Software is continuing to develop downloadable content for Borderlands 4 while also working on fixes for all versions of the game and the delayed Switch 2 edition. The first expansion, called ‘Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned,’ is scheduled for release in early 2026 and will include a new playable character – a new ‘Vault Hunter’ – for players to enjoy.

C4SH is a new character with a unique backstory – they used to be a casino dealer bot, but now wander the world seeking out powerful, yet dangerous, artifacts. Staying true to their robotic origins, C4SH’s abilities all rely on luck and chance. This creates a high-risk, high-reward playstyle where players can gain significant advantages like boosting themselves and teammates, inflicting heavy damage, or weakening enemies.

You can unlock C4SH by purchasing the Super Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 4. Check out a short preview video at the beginning of this article.

Over the next while, the development team will focus on improving the game for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and also launching the version for the new Nintendo Switch. Players have reported that Borderlands 4’s performance decreases the longer you play, likely due to a memory leak – a problem also seen in the remastered version of Oblivion.

I still think *Borderlands 4* on PS5 is worth checking out, even with its issues. In my opinion, and we gave it a 7/10, it’s a game where you can look past some frustrating performance problems and really enjoy a ton of loot and action!
