Perp Games, the publisher of the upcoming action RPG *The Relic: First Guardian*, has released two new videos. One is a short trailer showcasing the game’s combat, and the other is a nearly 9-minute-long gameplay walkthrough. You can watch both videos below.
The new trailer for *The Relic: First Guardian* highlights the intense combat players can expect. The game emphasizes powerful attacks with noticeable wind-ups, requiring both players and enemies to fully commit. The trailer demonstrates how to read these attacks and defend against them using blocks, parries, and dodges, showcasing a variety of defensive options. We also see the main character wielding different weapons throughout the action.
The new gameplay video offers a detailed look at how the game plays. The main character wields fast-moving short blades, and the combat system really highlights their ability to quickly string together multiple attacks, especially against slower opponents. The video begins with the character defending against enemies in a burning village, leading to a boss battle against Branko, the Bloodstained Shield. It concludes with the character venturing underground to search for and rescue any remaining survivors from the invading forces.
Progress on *The Relic: First Guardian* is moving at a consistent pace, even though the game was first revealed back in 2021. A new trailer released earlier this year showed off some of the weapons and gave players a better understanding of the game’s unique progression system, which focuses on crafting and equipping better gear rather than traditional leveling up.

Since the game was announced, several gameplay trailers have been released, including one at the 2024 Future Games Show Summer Showcase. This trailer revealed some of the enemies players will face in *The Relic: First Guardian*, even showcasing a few challenging mini-bosses. The trailer also showed off a variety of weapons, from basic swords and shields to slower, more powerful two-handed weapons.
The adventure game *The Relic: First Guardian* will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
