DICE has revealed the plans for the first season of content in Battlefield 6, starting with Rogue Ops on October 28th. This initial season introduces a new map called Blackwell Fields, designed to support various types of battles and player counts.
Strikepoint is a fresh 4v4 game mode played in rounds. Each team has only one life per round. We’ve also added a new vehicle, the APC Traverser Mark 2, along with three new weapons: the SOR-300C (Carbine Rifle), the Mini Fix (Sniper Rifle) and the GGH-22 (Sidearm).
On November 18th, we’re releasing California Resistance, the next stage of the season. This update includes a new map called Eastwood, which is great for battles of any size. We’re also introducing a new game mode, Sabotage, featuring 8v8 objective-based gameplay. In Sabotage, each team has one round to destroy key locations before the time runs out.
We’re also introducing Battle Pickups, which provide “high-tech, powerful weaponry” but have limited ammunition available on the map. As for new weapons, players can expect the DB-12 Shotgun and the M327 Trait Sidearm. Finally, the third phase, Winter Offensive, kicks off on December 9th, featuring a special, limited-time version of Empire State covered in ice.
This update offers more than just visual changes. A new game mechanic called Freeze will be available during the limited-time Ice Lock event. Plus, we’re introducing the Ice Climbing Axe, a new melee weapon, to round out the winter-themed rewards.
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can start downloading the game early, with preloads beginning on October 3rd – find more information here.
