Okay, so Game Pass just got a bit of a shake-up. The Ultimate tier – which is the one I usually go for – is now $29.99 a month, which is a $10 jump, ouch! But, Microsoft is trying to make it less painful by adding a bunch of new games for all of us subscribers. Hopefully, it’s worth the extra cost, right?
This includes adding Hogwarts Legacy, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Skull and Bones and a lot of other games published by Ubisoft, but only for Ultimate subscribers. Premium members get access to games like Abiotic Factor, Against the Storm, Ara: History Untold, Diablo 4 and more, which were often only available in the Ultimate plan before.
Regarding the Essential tier, the most basic plan, it’s getting four new games: Cities: Skylines Remastered, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Hades, and Warhammer 40,000 Darktide. Subscribers to the Ultimate tier can play all the games available in both the Premium and Essential tiers.
This is the second time Microsoft has increased the price of Game Pass Ultimate. It will go up from $16.99 to $19.99 starting in July 2024. This change comes after recent price increases for all Xbox Series X/S consoles in the United States, and you can find more details here.
