Here’s a look at every major Xbox release in October 2025.

25) Digimon Story: Time Stranger

  • Release Date: October 3rd, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

It’s been several years since a new Digimon Story game was released, but initial reactions to Time Stranger are promising. This RPG lets you travel across different worlds and even journey into the past. With monster collecting, classic turn-based combat, and over 450 Digimon to discover, fans are eagerly hoping this installment delivers on its potential.

24) Finding Paradise

  • Release Date: October 8, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

I’m really excited because Finding Paradise, the third game in the series that started with To the Moon, is finally hitting PlayStation and Xbox! It originally came out on PC back in 2017, but I’ve been waiting for a console version. The game continues the story of doctors Eva Rosalene and Neil Watts, which I loved. I’m crossing my fingers that the prequel, Imposter Factory, gets a port soon too!

23) Yooka-Replaylee

  • Release Date: October 9, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

I really enjoyed Yooka-Laylee when it first came out, but it wasn’t perfect. Now, Yooka-RePlaylee is here, and it looks like they’re trying to address a lot of the problems I had with the original, adding some nice tweaks and improvements. Honestly, it might not be enough to get old fans like me to jump back in, but it seems like this will be the definitive way to experience Yooka-Laylee from now on.

22) Battlefield 6

  • Release Date: October 10th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Even though it’s called Battlefield 6, this is actually the eighteenth installment in the popular shooter franchise. It’s rumored to be one of the most costly games developed, and the creators are hoping new features, such as the “Kinesthetic Combat System,” will be worth the investment. However, the negative reception of Battlefield 2042 could deter some players, but EA is confident this game will revitalize the series.

21) Little Nightmares III

  • Release Date: October 10th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

Little Nightmares III has a new developer – Supermassive Games is taking over from Tarsier Studios – but it’s still promising to be a frightening experience. Supermassive is known for creating scary games like Until Dawn and The Quarry. What’s new this time is online co-op, letting you and a friend experience the fear together, just like the enjoyable co-op in Until Dawn.

20) Just Dance 2026 Edition

  • Release Date: October 14, 2025
  • Other Platforms: Switch, PlayStation

By 2025, the Just Dance series is a familiar favorite. Ubisoft has been creating these games for over ten years, so players know what to expect. If you enjoy dancing rhythm games, this is definitely the game for you.

19) NASCAR 25

  • Release Date: October 14, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PlayStation

NASCAR 25 marks the beginning of a new era for the series, as it’s the first game being built on the Unreal Engine. The game will feature a career mode where you can start with a small, local team and climb your way to the top of professional racing. Similar to Just Dance, this game offers a straightforward and familiar experience – you’ll know exactly what to expect.

18) Ball x Pit

  • Release Date: October 15th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

Ball x Pit is essentially a roguelike take on Brick-Breaker. While it shares similarities with the classic arcade game, you have greater control over your paddle. Beyond that, the game also incorporates elements of city-building to enhance your progress, creating a fresh and engaging experience that blends different game genres in innovative ways.

17) Keeper

  • Release Date: October 17th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC

Keeper is the upcoming game from Lee Petty and Double Fine Productions. This puzzle adventure tells its story entirely through beautiful images, as it contains no dialogue or text. It’s the only game coming to consoles exclusively for Xbox players in October, making it a must-try title.

16) Overthrown

  • Release Date; October 16th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Overthrown has been available on PC in early access since late 2024, and now it’s officially launching with version 1.0 and on consoles in October. This city builder, designed for 1-6 players, is similar to Stardew Valley, but with a more fast-paced and unpredictable feel, and presented in 3D.

15) Jurassic World Evolution 3

  • Release Date: October 21st, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Evolution 3 is a new building and management game developed by Frontier Developments. Fans of Jurassic Park will be happy to hear that Jeff Goldblum returns as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the game’s story campaign.

14) Ninja Gaiden 4

  • Release Date: October 21st, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Ninja Gaiden 4 could be moving away from its main character, Ryu Hayabusa, and focusing on a new hero named Yakumo. However, the game is still expected to be a difficult, action-packed experience. Though Ryu will be playable, he appears to also act as a rival and a way to test Yakumo’s fighting skills.

13) Painkiller

  • Release Date: October 21st, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Painkiller is a fresh start for the well-known first-person shooter, created by Anshar Studios and published by 3D Realms. The original game, released in 2004, was the first title from People Can Fly, establishing them as a capable team in the FPS genre. Anshar Studios is primarily recognized for the cyberpunk isometric RPG Gamedec, making it interesting to see what new elements they bring to this reboot.

12) Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

  • Release Date: October 21st, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Bloodlines 2 has been in development for a very long time, feeling like decades to many. The game has changed developers and faced numerous delays. However, it now seems to be nearing completion. We hope the team at The Chinese Room can finally create the game fans have wanted since 2004, though it will be a significant challenge.

11) Double Dragon Revive

  • Release Date: October 23rd, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

As a long-time fan, I’m really excited about Double Dragon Revive! It’s being developed by Yuke’s, and from what I’ve seen, they’re aiming to recapture what made the original games so great. Basically, you can expect to jump right back into that classic side-scrolling beat-’em up action, but with updated graphics. And it doesn’t seem like it’ll get repetitive – they’re promising over 50 different mission types to keep things interesting as you progress through the story.

10) Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted

  • Release Date: October 23rd, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

As a big fan, I’d say this release isn’t a huge overhaul, but it’s definitely a welcome one! It’s essentially the Plants vs. Zombies I already love, but it *looks* so much better. The best part, though? They’ve finally added full multiplayer! Now I can easily play with my friends, which is awesome. It keeps the same core gameplay we all know and love, just with a fresh coat of paint and the ability to team up!

9) Once Upon a Katamari

  • Release Date: October 24th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

It’s been a while since the last Katamari game – 2011, to be exact! This new installment introduces a fresh world for you to roll your adhesive ball through, aiming to grow it to an enormous size and satisfy the demands of The King of All Cosmos. While the original creator, Keita Takahashi, isn’t involved this time, Once Upon a Katamari still captures the same playful and quirky spirit as before.

8) Halls of Torment

  • Release Date: October 28th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation, mobile

If you enjoy games like Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment is definitely worth checking out. It has a visual style that brings to mind older Diablo games, but with a gameplay twist – you automatically attack enemies. While more varied loot would be a nice addition, Halls of Torment is a strong and enjoyable entry into the auto-attacker genre.

7) Wreakreation

  • Release Date: October 28th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

When Dangerous Driving first came out, many players hoped it would bring back the popular Burnout series. While it was a good game, it didn’t quite recreate the original’s excitement. Wreckreation is the developer’s attempt to create a game like Burnout Paradise – a big, open world where you can crash into other cars. We’ll find out soon if they’ve succeeded.

6) The Outer Worlds 2

  • Release Date: October 29th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

I’m super hyped for the next game from Obsidian, the folks who made that awesome “Fallout in space” title! It looks like they’re taking everything that was great about the first one and just building on it. This time around, I’ll be exploring Arcadia, a really fancy colony, and getting caught right in the middle of a war between the controlling government and this huge megacorporation. So, yeah, nothing too heavy to deal with! The best part? Even though Obsidian is now an Xbox studio, it looks like PS5 and PC players like me will get to play it too. It’s going to be massive!

5) ARC Raiders

  • Release Date: October 30th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, PlayStation

Honestly, the extraction shooter scene is getting *super* packed these days, so ARC Raiders is really going to have to stand out to make it. I’ve been following it, and thankfully, people who’ve gotten to try it early seem to be enjoying it. That gives it a leg up compared to some other shooters trying to break into the genre right now.

4) Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake

  • Release Date: October 30th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

This package includes two classic RPGs. They’ve been beautifully updated with HD-2D graphics, similar to the style of Octopath Traveler. It’s the perfect starting point for anyone new to this popular, ongoing series.

  • Release Date: October 30th, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

Digital Eclipse’s latest compilation focuses on the iconic Mortal Kombat series. This collection brings together the original four MK games, along with several spin-off titles from the PlayStation 1 generation. Beyond the gameplay, you can also explore a wealth of behind-the-scenes content and interviews from NetherRealm Studios.

2) Mina the Hollower

  • Release Date: October 31st, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

Mina the Hollower has been in development for a few years now. This first game from Yacht Club Games that isn’t part of the Shovel Knight series has looked great in initial previews. It combines gameplay reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Ages with a setting and atmosphere inspired by Castlevania.

1) Tales of Xillia Remastered

  • Release Date: October 31st, 2025
  • Other Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation

Tales of Xillia Remastered is the latest game in Bandai Namco’s Tales Remaster Project. Basically, the publisher is taking advantage of the growing excitement for the series by re-releasing many of its older titles with updated graphics. Xillia received more pre-orders than any other Tales game when it first came out, making this a great moment for fans.
