Elyse Myers is recovering from major surgery.
The TikTok star revealed she recently had a hysterectomy because she’d been experiencing pain for several years.
“My uterus is officially gone and I’m on my way home today,” Elyse shared in an Instagram Story on Sept. 30, posting a photo of herself in a hospital bed and giving a thumbs up. “Recovery is veryyy slow but steady, so things are progressing.”
However, Elyse-who has sons August, 4, and Oliver, 2, with her husband Jonas Myers-later shared that she experienced a minor issue before being discharged from the hospital.
“I’m finally leaving,” the 32-year-old shared alongside a photo of her feet. “It seems my blood pressure dropped to a dangerous level after the surgery, so they kept me an additional night to monitor my condition. Now I’m able to go home.”
After making it home, Elyse gave her followers an update on her post-surgery pain.
“Honestly, people aren’t kidding when they say the most awful thing about getting a hysterectomy is the gas pain,” she shared in a video posted to her Instagram Story on Sept. 30. “It’s just… I really wish that pain would just disappear.”
The host of Funny Cuz It’s True initially revealed she had a hysterectomy in a TikTok video posted on September 28th. The video showed her and her friends celebrating with champagne, calling it a “fallopian farewell.”
Elyse shared a video of herself and friends dancing and celebrating, explaining, “I’m having a hysterectomy (which is scheduled for tomorrow).” She continued, “Instead of letting me wallow, my friends threw me a ‘going away’ party for my uterus to mark the end of yearsssss of severe and ongoing pain.”
She continued, “I’m excited for this new season of my life that starts tomorrow.”
Elyse had surgery just a week after a heartwarming family event: celebrating her youngest son’s second birthday. As the Myers family enjoyed his special day, Elyse thought about how much he had developed since a frightening health issue shortly after his birth, which required open-heart surgery.
“My sweet son turned two today, and I finally heard him call me mama for the first time,” she shared in the caption of a video posted on Sept. 13. The video shows her crying as Oliver says “Mama” while not visible on screen. “Due to his surgery and recovery process, he’s been reaching developmental milestones at his own pace.”
She added, “Happy birthday little buddy, this was worth the wait.”

The former Total Bellas star shared that one of her breast implants moved out of place after being hit in the chest by Piper Niven, another WWE wrestler, during a match in July 2025.
“It’s OK,” she told her sister Bella Garcia then. “We’ll get it fixed eventually. I explained to the doctor, ‘Now that I’m newly divorced, as soon as I retire, I’ll come back to you, and we’ll make sure these horses look their best, because they’re going to be competing again soon, and they can’t look like this.’”
Oh my gosh, I was so worried when I found out Lupita Nyong’o-my absolute favorite, especially from 12 Years a Slave-was diagnosed with uterine fibroids back in 2014! It’s just these non-cancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus, and it was the same year she won her Oscar! Can you believe it? She was dealing with that and still gave such an amazing performance. I’m just so glad she’s been open about it, and I’m sending her all my support! It’s so inspiring. Lupita is a queen!
She didn’t share her diagnosis publicly until 2025, when she wrote on Instagram that she had been “suffering in silence” for over ten years. It had been a long and private struggle.
She explained that when girls enter puberty, they’re often told that periods are supposed to be painful, and that this pain is just an unavoidable part of being female. She added, “We’re often dealing with this alone, even though it’s something that impacts most of us.”
In July 2025, the Daisy Jones & The Six star revealed she needed hospital treatment for a hernia-which is a weak spot in the abdominal or groin muscles-and explained it was caused by wearing very tight pants.
Someone actually messaged me on X, which, you know, used to be Twitter, saying, “Suki, you never tweet anymore!” And honestly? It got me thinking. I mean, has it occurred to anyone that about 6 months ago I wore pants so incredibly tight that I ended up with a hernia? I’ve just been too afraid to mention it to her, but maybe that explains my silence! It’s a whole thing.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor shared in April 2025 that he was getting better after having surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
“Last week, I started experiencing stomach pain,” Brian shared in an Instagram video. “I went to the emergency room and discovered I had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t quite burst, but it was very close.”
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”
The Racing Louisville midfielder suddenly fell to the ground early in her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th. The match was played at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the United States Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field, with a teammate supporting her, when the referee signaled for medical staff to assess her condition. She then collapsed moments later.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that evening, Savannah received immediate medical attention at the game and was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests. The National Women’s Soccer League reported she is currently stable and alert.
Adam Devine revealed that he continues to experience effects from injuries he suffered as a child. He was hit by a cement truck when he was 11 years old, and those injuries still bother him today.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience muscle spasms throughout my body. Recently-within the past year-[doctors] initially believed I was facing a life-threatening condition.”
He observed that pain is often temporary, explaining, “My body has all these things that are a little wonky and a little wrong with it.“
As a huge fan, I was so worried to hear that our Bachelor Nation alum had to go to the hospital! He actually said he was in so much back pain – it was made worse during an RV trip with a friend – that he was literally crawling on all fours to get help. It was so scary to hear!
“Currently, I still have a tingling sensation in my knees and toes, which is really strange,” he shared on a March 2025 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast. “To give you some context, I don’t want to sound arrogant, but just two or three weeks ago, maybe a month ago, I was squatting around 295 pounds. And now, I can’t even do a squat with my foot. I can’t do a single-leg squat-I fall over. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.”
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”
As a longtime fan, I was really shaken to hear that Gina Kirschenheiter‘s ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack back in March 2025. Thankfully, I also learned he made it through – it was a scary time, but I’m so relieved he survived. Real Housewives of Orange County definitely brings a lot of drama, but hearing about something like this puts everything into perspective.
The 30 Rock actor experienced a medical issue while attending a New York Knicks basketball game in March 2025, and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
But the comedian later posted an update on social media, explaining that he had actually suffered from food poisoning and was recovering well.
The Even Stevens actress revealed in February 2025 that she was shot in the face during a birthday outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
She explained on Instagram that she was shot in the face when another group nearby fired a weapon carelessly. “@thebrendanrooney quickly stepped in to help, checked my injuries, and got me to the hospital,” she wrote. She was hit five times, and one of the shots narrowly missed her right eye – it was less than an inch away.
The Kim Possible star explained, “Sadly, a small piece became stuck behind my eye, and doctors believe it’s too dangerous to try and remove it with surgery right now. They will keep checking on my condition – thankfully, my vision is currently normal.”
The actress expressed her relief and gratitude for being alive. “I cherish my daughters, husband, family, and friends immensely,” she stated. “I truly had a life-or-death moment, and I want to tell everyone: make sure you hug your loved ones whenever you get the opportunity. Things can change so quickly.”
While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”
During a game in December 2024, an AHL player suffered a cut from another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, his father, Tom Fitzgerald, who is the general manager of the New Jersey Devils, shared with ESPN, “We’re very lucky. I wouldn’t want that to happen to any parent.”
Hailey Bieber had the “scariest moment” of her life when she was having breakfast with husband Justin Bieber and started experiencing stroke-like symptoms in March 2022.
“Justin was like, ‘Are you OK?'” the Rhode skincare mogul shared a month later on YouTube, “and I just didn’t respond because I wasn’t sure. And then he asked me again and when I went to respond, I couldn’t speak. The right side of my face started drooping. I couldn’t get a sentence out.”
While Hailey said the facial drooping stopped and her speech came back, she went to the hospital to make sure she was OK.
“They did some scans and they were able to see that I had suffered a small blood clot to my brain,” the model added, “which they labeled and categorized as something called a TIA [Transient Ischemic Attack].”
Later, Hailey went to the University of California, Los Angeles, where she found out she had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).
She explained the blood clot had traveled into her heart, “escaped” through the hole and went to her brain, leading to the TIA.
Hailey said she had a successful PFO closure procedure and was now feeling great.
The year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also went through a difficult time.
In June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, an illness that temporarily paralyzed parts of his face, leading him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
“This virus affects the nerve in my ear and the nerves in my face, causing paralysis,” Justin explained in a video posted to Instagram. “As you can see, my eye isn’t blinking, I can’t smile on this side of my face, and this nostril won’t move. I have complete paralysis on this side of my face.”
He also shared with his fans that it had become “increasingly difficult to eat.” Fortunately, the paralysis eventually subsided.
“He’s recovering really well,” Hailey said on Good Morning America in June 2022, adding, “He’s feeling much better. It was a very frightening and unexpected situation, but he’s going to be completely fine, and I’m just thankful he’s okay.”
Although Jamie Foxx kept the specifics of his April 2023 hospital stay confidential at first, he eventually shared his experience.
He recalled that one day in Atlanta, “I had a terrible headache, so I asked a friend for an aspirin,” in his 2024 Netflix special What Had Happened Was… “But before I could take it, I passed out. I don’t remember the next 20 days.”
Jamie explained that he first saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home. However, his sister, Deidra Dixon, worried about his condition and drove him to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had a brain hemorrhage that caused a stroke.
Twenty days after surgery, the Django Unchained actor woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I’m just grateful for all the prayers,” he said, “because I truly needed them.”
The television personality shared that she experienced a moment akin to “dying” while jogging a mile during the initial challenge of the NBC competition show.
“I don’t recall much,” she shared on Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser. “I remember the sound of the helicopter. It felt like I was drifting, and then my grandpa appeared. After that, everything went dark, but then I saw a light. That’s when I realized-I knew I had died that day.”
“My organs were basically failing,” she went on to say. “I didn’t know I had rhabdomyolysis. And rhabdomyolysis is what your body does when it’s about to shut down.”
Emilia Clarke is known for filming intense battle scenes in Game of Thrones, but in 2019 she revealed a personal battle in an essay for The New Yorker titled “A Battle for My Life.”
She described experiencing a severe headache while at the gym, writing, “I reached the toilet, sank to my knees, and proceeded to be violently, voluminously ill.” The pain-shooting, stabbing, and constricting-quickly worsened. She realized something was seriously wrong with her brain.
She was rushed to the hospital for a brain scan.
“The diagnosis was quick and frightening: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain,” the Emmy nominee explained. “I’d had an aneurysm, a rupture in an artery.”
Emilia underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, describing the pain as “unbearable.” During her recovery, she experienced aphasia and found herself “muttering nonsense.”
Fortunately, Emilia said, the aphasia passed after a week, and she was discharged from the hospital a month after being admitted.
However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that a growth had “doubled in size,” requiring a second surgery.
“When I woke up, I was screaming in pain,” she wrote. “The procedure hadn’t worked. I had a massive bleed, and the doctors made it clear my chances of survival were very low if they didn’t operate again. This time, they needed to access my brain the old-fashioned way-through my skull.”
Thankfully, Emilia shared, she is now “at a hundred per cent.”
Snoop Dogg‘s daughter, Cori Broadus, is thankful for the support of her family.
This comes after she experienced a “severe stroke” in January 2024, prompting her loved ones to quickly come to her side.
“I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture,” she shared with TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone immediately came to my rescue.”
Due to other health issues, Cori ended up needing to stay in the hospital for a longer period than she originally anticipated.
“I could have been discharged after my stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing well,” explained the Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story star. “My kidneys were also failing. There was a lot happening at once.”
Currently, Cori is recovering well.
“I’m doing great,” she said. “I just needed to work on regaining some of my motor skills. But other than that, I’m doing fine.”
Shailene Woodley experienced significant health challenges during her early 20s.
“I eventually reached a point where I was losing my hearing. I couldn’t walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours and sleep. Everything I ate caused me stomach pain,” the actress explained on a September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast. “It was a combination of problems, diagnoses, and different doctors offering conflicting advice.”
Shailene-who has chosen to keep the specific condition private-began searching for answers.
“I come from a family that values holistic health and I study herbalism,” she added. “So I was determined to work with both traditional doctors [and] independent healers, hoping to find some relief and comfort.”
It was a lengthy process-lasting a full 10 years.
“Over that decade, a lot of other issues arose from feeling so physically unwell,” the Big Little Lies star noted, “like becoming afraid of food because everything caused stomach pain. That led to mental struggles, body dysmorphia, confusion about who I was, and feeling unsafe in my own body.”
After addressing both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now doing much better.
“It was a journey that eventually resolved itself physically, and I am very healthy,” she shared. “I’m so grateful to be able to say that.
