FIFA, the organization that governs international football, has partnered with Solace to create a new, arcade-style football game. Called FIFA Heroes, the game was revealed with a trailer – you can watch it below – and is scheduled to launch on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android in 2026. Currently, there are no plans to release a version for PC.
The trailer for FIFA Heroes doesn’t show much of the actual game itself. Instead, it creates a feeling and atmosphere, showing real people playing football in streets and local playgrounds. However, the developer, Enver Studio, has stated that the game will be a 5-on-5 football experience, with a special focus on mascots and legendary players from the world of football.
The studio explains that FIFA Heroes will have realistic movement and a fast-paced, arcade-like feel. This is achieved by letting players use powerful, special moves. As they play, users can create a team made up of famous footballers, well-known characters from other media, and even the official mascots that have appeared in FIFA games throughout the years.
So, besides the usual multiplayer stuff you’d expect in a football game, FIFA Heroes is going to have some cool single-player stuff too! They’re including a PvE career mode where you basically build up your own club. It’s not just about winning games, though – there are specific milestones you need to hit as you take your club through tougher and tougher matches. It sounds like a really engaging way to progress and really feel like you’re building something special. I’m really excited about this!
The announcement also highlighted that FIFA Heroes marks the first time ever that the official FIFA mascots will be playable characters in a football game. When the game launches, it will include three mascots representing the host nations: Maple for Canada, Zayu for Mexico, and Clutch for the US. Each mascot will have distinct abilities and special moves, and more will be revealed soon.
“Bringing people together through a passion for football has always been our main goal,” explained Christian Volk, Director of Gaming and Esports at FIFA, in a recent announcement. “With FIFA Heroes, fans have the chance to build a unique dream team, combining beloved fictional characters, their favourite athletes, and even our official mascots. We’re introducing the joy of football to a new audience, while also reminding older players and families of the fun they’ve experienced with FIFA over the years. FIFA Heroes perfectly complements our existing digital football offerings within the FIFAe family, strengthening our rapidly expanding gaming world.”
We haven’t received any official word yet from FIFA, Solace, or Enver Studio regarding the lineup of athletes and characters that will be included in FIFA Heroes.
“Solace has collaborated with Enver, the game developers, from the very beginning to create innovative gaming experiences that connect players,” explained Kyle Joyce, Solace’s director. “With FIFA Heroes, our goal was to truly capture the excitement of football – its fast pace, dramatic moments, and intense rivalries. Football uniquely unites people, and this game is how we’re bringing that passion for the sport to life.”
